I couldnt agree with you more - he deserves it for sure! I'll be at the game and intend to give him an ovation all by myself if I have to (although I really think Flames fans will show him the class he deserves).

I hope this doesn't sound insensitive, but I always worry how situations like this impact the relationship betwee the parents suffering the loss. Thankfully I don't know first hand, but going through something like this must be devastating and incredibly hard on their relationship as well. Sounds like they have a very supportive relationship, but I hope they take the time and do whatever they need to do for them to stay as happy as possible and keep their partnership strong.
