Glad to see Stempniak meshing nicely with the Penguins. Kunitz - Crosby - Stempniak looks quite potent at the moment according to Penguins fans. Will be interesting to see a Bruins - Penguins ECF this year again.
Stemper playing with Crosby and Kunitz? Geez, we should have gotten at least a second from Pittsburgh, maybe more
I feel like Stempniak will be a non-factor in the playoffs, Jokinen also had a good run when the Pens acquired him last year and was invisible in the playoffs.
Stemps may turn out to be a better player for Pittsburgh than Iginla. Like others have said, he's a great Kunitz-like support player that will mesh with their talent extremely well. I think he's going to do very well on the Pens.

A lot of Flames fans - and to be fair, Penguins fans as well - seem to forget that for the most part, he was put on his offwing with Malkin and Neal. Bylsma kept Dupuis with Sid and Kunitz. Iggy even got taken off the PP.
With Stempniak, normally a RW, playing in RW alongside Sid and Kunitz, I would imagine it'd feel more than comfortable from the get go.

I think Burke was pretty close with his analysis (As long as you can look past the BIGGER, TRUCULENCE, MEANER)
Burke said that Stempniak is a very good hockey player, but if he was a few inches taller and a few pounds heavier he would be an excellent hockey player (paraphrasing)
Which I think is true, he doesn't play a finesse game, he goes unto the corners and to the net and plays in straight lines. That type of game limits his effectiveness due to his size.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if he found great success with Pittsburgh.

A perfect example of how, on a bad team, players don't look as good and as a result, some fans think that the entire Flames roster are garbage players.
They are not - they have value and, in the right circumstances, can show that value. Same would have been true of Cammalleri, and is true about Iginla, as he is in the right place this year. Bouwmeester too.
