Backlund needs a letter. Got to give Hartley props. Ever since he called him out for his offensive game he's been way better offensively. I'll gladly eat crow.

He'll get it back after some trades happen. He definitely deserves it, but having more than two "A"s at a time is something the Oilers do, and you never want to do anything that the Oilers do.

very interesting after hours with stajan. hrudy and oak openly talk about his terrible seasons, sumo suits, stajan's own photo bombs, calgary fire dept. ball cap, stajan says his family kept him level through heavy criticism, likes to "go over the middle" and as a result takes big hits, appears to be great team guy, also has weird effeminate lisp.
p.s. aside from iggy, gio is the best skater to wear the sweater in a decade
So why weren't the 3rds worn tonight? I do consider them back luck...so I'm glad they didn't. Was there an official reason why they didn't wear them? I thought the schedule said they were supposed to wear them.
Again...I think they're bad luck, and I'm glad they didn't wear them.
It was billed as Western Night, but the Flames made a late switch with their attire. They were supposed to don the new third jerseys, but having lost all eight games this season when wearing them, the team changed to the regular sweaters.
"I talked to Brian (Burke, the team's president of hockey operations) and I said, 'We're playing so well right now. Can we just keep going?'" coach Bob Hartley said. "Brian said 'Let me check,' and he got back to me and said, 'Yeah, I can help you that way.'
"Little superstitions, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't."
lol and timbit said the jerseys had nothing to do with the losses. ha!
These kinds of things get into players heads. So glad they didn't wear those abominations tonight. Maybe they can retire them after this season? Bad luck AND mind-numbingly hideous. Blech.
