Think about it. He was a Flame for how long? So some of that franchise luck must still be clinging to him. Couple that with the fact every Flame fan is cheering for him to get there and since when have we ever been rewarded with seeing what we want? 29.

Yeah, Iginla has had a real problem hitting 30 goals in his career.

But that was never a question, it was an automatic. This year we are actively hoping and pushing for him to get 30. The best thing we could all do is stop talking about him and completely ignore he exists, he will finish with 40! I am just havin some fun with the bad luck that seems to be tied to all things Flames.
When all is said and done I wonder where he will be on that prestigious list. 15? can he edge Sakic at 625 if he plays another 3 seasons?
If Iggy "Andreychuk"'s the end of his career by playing into his early 40's scoring 20-30 goals a year, he could catch Robitaille at 13. It makes both those lockouts more infuriating. He could have had a legitimate shot at 700.
Seeing Iggy play this well into his late 30's makes me wish we traded him a season or two earlier. The Flames would have gotten better value in the trade and would be well into the rebuild by now. As it stands I really don't see the Flames being any sort of contender before Iggy hangs up his skates and retires. Maybe it was always a pipe dream but seeing Jarome come back and finish on a contending Flames team would've been something special.
If Iggy played during the same era as Gretzky/Lemieux/et al., how many goals does he score?
Similar debates have come up here and the conclusion is always the same.
One side says "If he played in that slow, less skilled era he'd blow superstar X out of the water"
and the other side says "If he played in that era he likely wouldn't be like he is today with all the advancement in training, equipment etc, so you can't compare".
And then variations of those posts go back ad forth for a dozen pages or so, and then it dies.
Did this s7ark fellow ever make another post on the internet after that comment? Pretty sure I would just disappear forever.
At one point later he got mad at someone on HFboards for teasing him about it. He tried to brush it off saying "whatever, I was drunk anyways!". Another poster found the initial post... it was made on a Tuesday afternoon.
