He'd probably improve on Edmonton's current coach.

Hi guys,

finally have some time to write a few words about our team going to Sochi. I am very disappointed that Jiri won ´t be represnting us /Czech republic/ in Olympics. Here are some things you maybe don ´t know. Relationship between Jiri and coach of Czech national hockey team is not the BEST......if you know what I mean :-) A few years ago, there were some times when Jiri was invited to represent Czech republic in the WC, he rejected it for some reasons and since then these two guys are not the best friends. It is rumoured they had some argument in those times too. Still, Hudler played under Hadamczik /Czech coach/ last year in WC in Sweden and Finland and was without any doubt the best forward of our team......On the other hand Cervenka is Hadamczik ´s favourite player for no reason.......Roman did nothing GREAT on any WC. In my opinion not good for international hockey . Great in KHL, zero factor on internatonal ice /wish I was wrong/.........I guess this is how it works sometimes, there are some better relationships and some worse......

In my opinion Jiri deserved to be named without any question. Great vision, great hands, 100% playmaker...playing in his best season of the career maybe......and he plays for my beloved Flames!!!

Was very angry yesterday when I was watching LIVE press conference........

In the end I want to mention, that today´s newspaper in Czech republic are talking about nomination a lot of course. Many of them quoting Hartley ´s sarcastic words about that Czech gold medal from Sochi, when they chose to pass on Hudler :-)

Here are two links

http://isport.blesk.cz/clanek/ostatn...u-hudlera.html

http://oh.idnes.cz/hudler-olympiada-...-soci-2014_cig

Many, many Czech journalists and sport ´s writers don ´t agree with this Hudler thing.

So this is what I wanted to tell you...some opinion from Czech republic.

Take care guys

Petr

Not surprised the snub stems from Hudler turning down the World Championship. The European teams take it seriously, and hold it against players who choose not to go. I bet many people in charge see wins at the World's as more important as even winning the cup. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but it might to some European fans on this board.

Actually, plowing his daughter might have helped Hudler since Barinka, who's doing the plowing currently, made the team.

Good point :-) Can see it is known, that Barinka is his son-in-law.

One last thing from me....I work as a newsman and chief of news in one person in one middle size radio station in Czech republic /www.radiojih.cz/...around 120 000 listeners......my news today.... full of Hartley ´s comments on Hudler etc. Fine thing to be in charge of this :-) Today I have a chance to mention Calgary in my news so many times :-))))

Love getting the updates from the Czech Republic, thanks calgaryboy!

At least we can take solace in the fact that the Flames system includes an Olympic-caliber goaltender and defenseman, a huge snub at forward, another small forward snub, and a darkhorse to make the best team in the tournament.

I just wish those players were named Quick, Karlsson, Ryan, Okposo and Giordano rather than Berra, Smid, Hudler, Baertschi and Giordano...

Calgaryboy. "It's a circus show". I thought because of Hemsky, the Czech might be more familiar with the Oilers, might have a few fans.

I am not a fan of Czech players, I am a Flames fan! No matter if there is any Czech player or not! Go Flames! This club is my religion :-)

Damn politics I guess. I understand why some players want to take a break after a long gruelling NHL season. You need a mental break sometimes. Kind of ridiculous to leave out one of your best players in a tournament of this scale out of spite.

I get what you mean, having lived in CGY for a while, I fell in love with the Flames. Even now when im thousands of kilometers away from Calgary and Canada, I love the Flames. But I'm currently also following Boston because of Milan Lucic. Would love if Burke can somehow trade for him, he's the definition of truculent.

I would assume it's a bit different for you, as there is a lot of Czech players in the NHL.

Just stupid by the coach/selection group. Do you want a chance at winning, or to stick it to players who couldn't make a tournament one time? Just dumb. Dude should be fired.

Indeed. It's funny too because they are only hurting the guys who are going by not taking their best team.
