If it's a goaltender safety issue then it's even more quizzical. To tip a puck you have to be by defnition away from the goalie for it to be effective.

Only if the puck is over their head.

I don't disagree, but it is the only rationalization I can come up with to explain the difference in rules. It's probably a left over from the days when goalies didn't wear helmets, and they probably wanted to keep sticks down around the net.

It's a frame of reference issue. Crossbar standardizes the limit, but you can't tell unless it's close to the net so you have to choose something else elsewhere

because of football? If it's in Europe Game 3 will be before football and if the tournament is in NA then Game 3 will be in primetime. There are no Sunday night football games in January.

If it's a Game 3 involving Canada? It'll beat the NFL anyways.

A couple of face off wins or not, Gauthier is a considerably lower level player/prospect than the other forwards on the team. He's Patrice Bergeron on the Olympic team. I guess he's there for a reason, but he's clearly the least skilled player in the line up........ except for maybe Anderson or Hudon.

I agree that offensively that line doesn't bring much just that they did do their job in the biggest game so far for Canada.

If Canada is down a goal I think that 4th line sits on the bench and Canada goes with 9/10 guys.

Gauthier likely ahead of Anderson, Leier, Hudon and Rychel for me but close with Rychel.

I don't think it's possible to be more annoying than that stupid British kid.

Jump on him all you want, but I'm sure Dumba has done that hundreds of times across various leagues and it was just a part of the game.
