Jones shouldn't be on the PP. Might as well throw McGrattan out there if you want a big body in front of the net.

they really do need some bigger bodies mixed in, some size in front of the net on the PP

Shrug. Top players always get away with more in every league in every sport. I remember marveling at how Maddux and Glavine could operate 6 inches off the plate and get called strikes or how Jordan could manhandle opponents and finish the game with 2-3 fouls.

Backlund clearly didn't make the NHL because of his shot.
Best player on the ice today though.

Gio and Smid are looking pretty rough today so far. Not handling their own zone very well.

they also draw more calls, there is a reason the Flames get very few PPs
no stars=no calls

Well the first goal was pretty fluky and the Flames haven't rolled over yet. I have faith

Somehow, I doubt that their icetime is in jeopardy.

The Pens are not a good team, take away Crosby and they'd be fighting for a playoff spot.

Penguins broadcast stating that the Flames are working hard and only really made one mistake in the 1st, Zolnarczyk (I'm spelling it that way today) had a perfect deflection on his goal, and that the Flames being down Glencross and last game of a long road trip have a very tough hill to climb being down 2-0 after the first.
Have to agree with all of that.

Flames showing a bit of shove back but not too surprised being down 2-0. Crosby & co.

if they could get one it might be a game...Flames are not really generating much in the way of high end chances though

I really disagree with this, especially when they are missing a good chunk of their lineup including Malkin, you aren't really seeing what this team is right now, and they're still winning a lot of games.

If you aren't allowed to hook and score after being offside, it's a fairly even game.

Why are they talking about the 4th line but showing a shift with Backlund and Cammalleri on the ice?
