If 80 percent of the people can move their vehicles when the ban is implicated I am sure a tow truck should be able to get in there and tow the remaining 20 percent of people. If the tow truck gets stuck there will be other tow trucks to tow them out anyways.

I drive down 12th everyday and some of those cars haven't moved in weeks.

If the plows can get the whole road in one pass it makes it exponentially better going forward compared to having to weave in and out of parked vehicles who don't bother moving
I agree. If there's no consequences there is a group of the population that really doesn't care. Look at street cleaning. The city puts up the signs days in advance and a lot of people still park on the street because they know that the city isn't really going to do anything about it. People tend to follow the rules better in the future after getting a steep fine.

Exactly! Start towing or put boots on peoples cars. Even just a fine won't both people here make it a real inconvenience for them to not follow the rules.

A front end loader/plow finally went down my street today...a fully 17 days after the initial blizzard.

Looks like it smoothed out the ruts and made it possible to have vehicles pass each other now.

Just brutal.

Ugh I don't know why I watched that video even after being warned. I feel sick to my stomach and feel like throwing up. That truck was going way too fast for the conditions.

Surprisingly there's a bobcat digging up snow on my street and dumping it in a truck. It's even been clearing some of the packed snow on people's driveways. I'm guessing this probably isn't the city doing that.

Any chance its contracted by the city to do bylaw violation cleanups?

We had one in our alley this morning cleaning up all the huge piles people had made.

Noticed the city pushing the snowbanks back further off the curbs on many major roads as we'll. Almost creating a two stepped snowbank rather than one huge bank of snow.

I don't think so - it was cleaning the road and parts of driveways, not sidewalks.

Today was our day of a front end plow doing something similar... at least no longer the 12-14 inch ruts

I'll complain all I want. I pay taxes and live in a city that gets snow.

So what spending would you like to see cut to increase the snow clearing budget? Or would you prefer to raise taxes?

I'll take a raise in taxes. Something has to give.
