I also think the flames brass want to make him happy so he stays here for as long as possible. He isn't winning the Calder, he's not wining the cup, let's let the kid win something this year...
Since you apparently can predict the future...

Can I have your 6/49 numbers?

Lol. Predict the future about the flames not winning the cup cause that should be easy. About the Calder; well he might if had a chance if hurtl and MacKinnon weren't playing that well but they are and now Monahan is injured to boot. And f tie say voters will take his time off due to injury into consideration then it's the same for the WJC. You don't have to be able to read the future, just be able to think past today.

Krug would probably take the Calder today if it matters. He'd also be way ahead of Monahan in the Calder race.

I left the poll a simple yes/no, but my honest call would be yes, but ask him. I think it's a huge development opportunity and a once in a life time opportunity for a player, but if he'd rather slog it out in Calgary that's fine too. It's not like he's playing 6 minutes a night and playing the fourth line with McGrattan.

The only way I'd say yes to this now is if he comes back from his injury around mid Dec. maybe instead of sending him to Abbottsford on a conditioning stint, send him to Sweden for an extended one

^^ Agree with this totally. The Flames are going nowhere with him in the lineup or not. So, if he's healthy, this would be an excellent benchmark for him against the best in the world for his age group.

Plus, the WJC is far more interesting to watch than the product that the NHL ices in late December/early January anyway!
