The 76ers could hit an all time low with a loss tonight when they host the Pistons, as it would be the longest losing streak in all four of the major professional sports league. The good if you will is the Pistons have lost 17 of their last 21, though the Pistons have won all three meetings this season.

At the other end of the spectrum, how is it that with a couple weeks left in the season, the hottest team in the league right now is San Antonio? They way they're able to stay elite season after season is ridiculous. They've got one of the toughest final 10 games of any team in the league (New Orleans, Indiana, Golden State, OKC, Memphis, Minnesota, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, Los Angeles). Identical 28-8 home and away records, 1st in assists, 5th and 6th in points-against and points-for per game.

SA is obviously well coached and they have veteran leadership. That's why they have this unthinkable regular season success. I doubt they will be as successful in the playoff though.

What's going on with the Pacers? Losing to the Wizards and Cavs, the two worse teams in the league and they already tie the Heat in the lost column. With the red hot Spurs playing them next, they could easily go 1 down in the lost column to the Heat.

Seems like the Pacers whole identity is based around we can beat the Heat, we are better than the Heat, Heat, Heat, Heat, Heat.
While that is nice for the games on Wednesday against the Heat it leaves something lacking during the other games.
Plus they rely too much on unreliable guys like Stephenson and Hibbert and George appears to be a much better underdog/unknown than a star.

KD finishes with 28 points, his 40th straight game with at least 25 points, tying MJ. The record could be broken this Sunday against the Suns in Phoenix.

80 actually. Second is Oscar Robertson with 46. Durant is already one of the greatest scorers in the history of the game.

Bill Simmons posted this in his most recent NBA mailbag, but here are Durant's stats in his last 42 games (so more than half a season)
39.3 MPG, 35.0 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 6.1 APG, 52% FG, 40% 3FG, 86% FT
I mean when we talk about "being Jordan"...there it is. That stat line is Jordan, right there. Durant, offensively anyways, is the guy who can be Jordan. His total offensive game is unparalleled in recent history.

Lebron since his "legendary" 61 point game:
38.6 MPG, 24.2 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 6.6 APG, 51% FG, 34% 3P, 75% FT.
Durant owning him 5 out of 6 categories. Anybody want to say that Lebron is the MVP?

Still can't believe Portland took oden over durant. You just don't get a chance at a scorer like that.

Oden was the hands down hype machine at the time, so there really isn't much to blame them with. He looked like LeBron's dad at the time too, and nobody wanted to pass up on a possible LeBron after James came in and lived up to the hype. Durant was a guy who most thought would blossom but Oden to most at the time of being a generation talent at C. Too bad really, but I don't blame them at all given what was being said. That's like blaming Detroit for taking Darko Milicic when they could have had Chris Bosh.

I recall Durant being close and there were people back then saying Portland should take Durant (including Simmons). Even then the Bowie comparisons were being made. Even at the time of the draft Oden's love of the game was being questioned.

There it is.... KD with a bucket late in the 3rd, giving him 25 points for the 41st consecutive game.

Yeah, that's what happen when you give star players the benefit on the call 90% of the time: they go ballistic when it doesn't go their way. It was the right call, but James usually gets that call, so of course he has a warped view of what is and isn't a foul. And yeah, the nickname unis suck.

So if you've watched a Spurs game since Kawhi Leonard was acquired by them, you've no doubt heard he has big hands. Well here they are compared to a female fans and ummm...holy ####

I've got pretty big hands and one time I shook Shawn Kemp's hand. It made it seem that I had a babies hand compared to him.
