What was the most fun you had in a challenge? What was it like having a camera crew follow you around everywhere through your experience? Do they have cameras on you the whole time?
Seriously though, congratulations. What you've done for yourself is so hard but so worth it. Great job!
Can't give specifics yet, but lets say a fighter jet was involved
The crew was awesome, we became very close, oddly the rule is that the crew not even talk to us, but our producer said well this is Iceland and we do things our way, so they became like a 2nd family to us. When people got sent home you'd see people in the crew, camera men, sound guys choking up.
Most of our day is without the cameras, just the trainer workout at 1pm was filmed and of course any other activity like challenges, mini challenges, special guest speakers, etc.. Lots of interviews though, lots of sitting around waiting to do your interview.
You really got used to the cameras after a while, and even began to play act a bit when the camera was on you, you could never help that unless you were exhausted, that was about the only time they got you at your most real.

Ok one picture thats pretty safe to post, this is my legs after about 10 days in. My diet was so crap before that I bruised pretty easily but still it gives you and idea of how intense this was.

Kinda NSFW, just my sexy legs.
NSFW!
Holy crap ouch! That's insane. Did you get the "Jillian" trainer?
Read up on the history of the folks at whole9. They used to be a crossfit affiliate, and then HQ refused to renew their affiliation because of being vocal against the direction leadership was taking it.
For the record, crossfit didn't invent interval training and I just want you to be careful in selecting a box if you're going to keep it up on your own. Go for quality instruction and watch out for the dummies who believe doing 30 heavy snatches for time is a good idea because "it's the WOD on .com".

Well the nutrition was very simple, basically just Paleo diet, we had to follow this book which one of our trainers is friends with and is a big fan of the book.
I'll say the biggest surprise for me diet wise was how easy it was to eat minus the dairy, grains, and especially added sugars. I can't get over how much better I feel dropping grains and especially added sugars, considering how much of it exists in stuff you wouldn't think it would contain like in chicken breasts, spices and all kinds of off the shelf products.
The exercise program was pretty brutal, we went at 6am, 10am, 1pm (trainers, the stuff you see on tv) and then again at 5 or 6 pm.
You pretty much did nothing but exercise, eat, recover/nap, and sleep. We had weekends to ourselves, only 3 exercise times on Saturday and Sunday we used to recover, maybe just walk or something light.
I still can't get over how fast the weight went off, it will obviously slow down a lot now since I'm at home and working again, but I should be able to keep at least 1kg (2.2 pounds) a week pace if I stick to my new regime which will be crossfit 3 times a week, added with reebok fitness for weight lifting and eventually yoga and some other stuff.
I can't tell you how awesome crossfit is, its truly mind blowing how hard and rewarding it is, cannot recommend it enough.
64 pounds in eight weeks! Wowza! Is that even healthy to drop that fast? Regardless, good on you. It was probably very difficult and as they say, the hardest part is keeping it off, so don't get cocky now!
How'd you get those bruises? Yikes!
As for added sugars, yeah their everywhere. Saw a CBC doc recently on it, and although I already knew a lot about it, there were still some surprising parts. Part of me watching my diet the last few years has been using less sauces and such. I always love a good BBQ sauce and I'll (or at least did) add it to almost everything. You don't think about all the sugar your consuming just having ketchup with fries. I mean, I'm not drinking cola, I'm not eating copious amounts of chocolate or ice cream or stuff like that, you'd think sugar in take would be in the healthy range, but no. It's in everything.
Congrats on losing the 'fat guy beard'. You know a man has lost some serious weight when he shaves off his 'fat guy beard'. (And inversely, when he's gained weight, when you first see one on him, haha)
