If Luongo is in the conversation, sad state of goalie development in Canada

They were three of the best players in the league last season.
It pains me to say because he's an oiler but Schultz is really good. He's the definition of powerplay quarterback. If he's not on the taxi squad at least, I will be stunned.

I also think the 4th line of Benn - Getzlaf - Perry more than makes up for any lack of size on the rest of the roster.

The subs (Carter, Nash, and Hall) are all big physical guys too, if they need to be slotted in.
St. Louis is interesting considering he won the Art Ross. He'll be almost 39, but he's in crazy good shape, plays with Stamkos, and of course Yzerman is the GM.

That is a sick fourth line, but I question the drive of Getzlaff and Perry.

Prepare to be stunned then. With guys like Kieth, Letang, possibly Subban, and Doughty are on the team why do they even need to consider a guy who can only "quarterback" the powerplay? I don't think Schultz is better on the powerplay than most of the players being mentioned for the team, and that doesn't even consider that Schultz is a complete and total disaster everywhere else (5 on 5 in particular). No chance he's getting close to the team barring many catastrophic injuries.

Nash was one of the top Canadian forwards at the Vancouver Games. He played a great two-way game on the big ice. And he's 29. No reason to think he won't be there.

As a Canadian, I hope Schultz isn't on the roster if he plays like he did in his rookie year. He may get his chance down the line, but right now he is far too raw to get considerable consideration.

We played on NHL ice in 2010 so no he didn't play a great two way game on big ice. Nash brings nothing to team Canada.

We don't need to take a powerplay specialist either Canada is loaded on D with young studs like doughty and pieterangelo who can play the point both right hand shots. What we are lacking is a left shot which is why I think bouwmeester is a guy that could crack the team.

Justin Schultz won't even get a sniff of the taxi squad I'm sorry he's not that good.

If we are going to select Chris Kunitz might as well take pascal dupuis while we are at it

Nazeem Kadei has had half a good season lol that doesn't make him a top player. I rather take Jason speeza.

Brodie>Schultz. And Brodie isn't going to make the team. Why should Schultz then?

No one is discussing Schultz, he isn't even a remote possibility.

I think you're the only one outside of any deluded Oilers fans. Zero chance Schultz is even in consideration IMO.

He can skate, pass and shoot. He's deadly on the powerplay. He'll be at the camp and he'll probably make the taxi squad. Maybe he needs some work in his own end ( I wouldn't read too much into that Reinhardt goal in a meaningless game), but Bouwmeester and Letang aren't great there either.

For all of Bouwmeester's warts he is worlds better in his own end then Letang or Schultz.

Schultz makes Ryan Whitney looks like a yearly Norris contender.

I'm sure there would be plenty of people here including myself who would be happy to put money on him not being at camp or being on the taxi squad.

Lol. Schultz had more points than Whitney has had since he was with pens. In a half season. I know we all love to hate the oilers but he's good.
I'd take Schultz over Bouwmeester as of right now.

He was talking about his defensive game. Schultz may outscore a handful of defensemen in the NHL once he hits his prime but he needs to develop a two way game before even being considered for Team Canada. And no way i would take him over Bouwmeester.
