That's right. I don't believe there is a franchise player in our future, and to be quite honest, I like it that way. I hate the concept of elevating one player over another in a team game. I think it is stupid and is garbage dreamed up by the rotisserie types. I hope the Flames end up like the Bruins and have a team full of great players where they don't have to play one guy 21 minutes a game and that 18 minutes for each of your top three lines is possible.

Lol Seguin isn't as good as Campbell and Kelly, and peverly at center..... I don't know if I can help you man, the reason why Seguin is on the wing is to have him in the top 6 forwards, they want him playing with talent and scoring goals, not have him as a shut down third liner.

Yeah, Seguin isn't as good at center as Campbell or Kelly. Seguin's face off stats have never been good. His defensive awareness has also been a weakness. His strength is his offense, although that was not evident in the post season this year. Seguin just hasn't developed the two way game that the Bruins demand of their centers, so Seguin finds himself on the wing where the responsibility is much lower. It is a team philosophy in Boston and Seguin is playing a position where he is most helpful to the team and where he will find success.

Good point about using NHL.com, yet still no comment on his 17 minutes a game... That is 2 to 4 minutes less then most other top line players...

I really didn't think it needed a comment. He gets the ice time he deserves. There is no guarantee he would come to Calgary and earn any more ice time. Giving guys I've time based on their reputation or pedigree is a mistake the Flames fell into for years. Saying Seguin would come here and all of a sudden be given 21 minutes a night is ridiculous. His game is not developed enough in the important areas where he could play in all the situations called for to earn another 4-5 minutes a night.

Conclusion: your definition on franchise players crazy that there is only 1 in the NHL and will be for a very long time, Seguin is on the wing because they want him in the top 6 due to his talent, not because he is a worse center then Chris Kelly and Gregory Campbell, and lastly you still didn't comment on why Seguin won't improve his point production getting 2-4 more minutes a game on the ice if he were a flame...

Yes, we have a difference of opinion. I like mine better because I do not believe there is a great number of franchise players around (multiple on some teams according to you) and I believe that is supported by evidence around the league. Remember when both Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton were called franchise players? By your logic they should have crushed the league when they ended up on the same team rather than just end up having a good team. Turns out neither we're franchise players and just top end talents. So much for that franchise player tag. Also, there is no guarantee that a guy is going to leave one team and come to another and be a good fit. Seguin could come to Calgary and be the exact same player he is in Boston, without the great supporting cast that gets him the puck. Would his production increase or decrease without the stars in Boston? What I get out of this discussion is you think hockey is like a video game and players are the same no matter what team you drop them on and the environment they play in. Only the most exceptional players can do that, and there are very few of those around. You can count them on maybe one hand. Seguin isn't one of those players.
