I honestly think Johnny, 22, Glencross is a hell of a package and saves the B's $3M in cap space. Dump a bad contract on us too if you want Chirelli

Needs their 60 pick. Do you guys work for the bruins?

I've heard Boston needs a RW and want to dump Peverley's salary.
To Bos
Hudler (1/2 price), Glencross (1/2 price), Gaudreau + 28th
To Cal
Seguin, Peverley + 2nd rounder
Bruins get 2 wingers back + 2 prospects. Save 5.625M in cap that will allow them to get Rask under contract. If that isn't enough we could use the 22nd pick instead of 28th and/or swap Glencross for Gio.

I think the Flames are two years away from being able to make a trade like this. They need to focus on building assets through draft picks and some trades. In the meantime, they can fill some holes with UFA's for a couple of years and ease some of their young players
Don't get me wrong, I think Seguin is the real deal and will be a good player. However, the Flames can't afford to package two of Baertschi, Gaudreau and Brodie because it puts them in a position where they can't trade for players to support a player like Seguin. Timing is just not right in my opinion unless Boston is willing to listen to a lowball offer that includes our 22 and a prospect. I highly doubt that though.

Stempniak + Glencross + Johnny (you know Boston will demand him) + 22 for Seguin+Peverly
Boston saves nearly $6M in cap space

Did I miss the announcement that Chiarelli was a Flames fan?
Why does Boston want our mediocre players and late firsts for a 20 year old top prospect?

Ehhh...
They're not going to do anything with Chara, Seidenberg, Boychuk, or McQuaid, I don't think. And then they've got Krug, Hamilton, and Bartkowski waiting in the wings.
Were I Chiarelli, I need at least one younger player with high-end potential in return. That means either a Top 10 pick or an elite prospect. Maybe the Flames do it... maybe they don't. But I think someone will. Too much talent.

Seems like the rumoured asking price was a neon sign aimed at Yzerman. A top 3 pick - check. Just bought out their 2nd line center and need a replacement - check. Throw in a mix of aging players with an ever narrowing window meaning they would want someone capable of stepping in immediately. But still a good young core that they can build around for the next 10 years so they wont sacrifice their future.
I don't know, a Seguin Lightning jersey might not be the absolute stupidest investment.

How is that pissing on the Flames?

Come on, anyone not including the 6th, Baertschi or Brodie in the proposal is way out to lunch.
Baertschi's young, he's going to improve, but realistically he hasn't shown a ton in the NHL with his 13 points. At least not compared to Seguin who already had a 65 point season under his belt at Baertschi's age.

To Boston:
6th Pick, Baertschi, Gaudreau and Glencross
To Calgary:
Seguin, Boychuck and 2nd Round Pick
We get a good young centre and a solid defencemen to play with Brodie.
Boston gets Glencross to replace the "A" that is going to be left by Horton and Ference, Baertschi to fill up a wing, Gaudreau they can turn into a hometown hero and a 6th pick that will probably be traded away in another package deal to another team.

If we want to continue the trend of Calgary losing trades this is a great proposal

I will bet anybody on this board that 3 years from now Sven is putting up better numbers than Seguin.

Because you said our players are all mediocre?? When do you have anything positive to say about the Flames? It is always the same Debbie Downer stuff.

No I didn't.
And this isn't commenting on the Flames it is commenting on proposals where the Flames are giving up Stempniak, Glencross and late firsts when it was said Boston wants Top Ten pick and top 6 players.
Again it was a comment in the proposals not the Flames but keep trying to make it fit your garbage agenda.

Giving up 6, who will likely be as good as Tyler but $5 million per year less is kinda dumb.
