they're starting to look more team on the ice
I think I'm getting old considering how young everyone on that squad seems to me, this just feels like a calmer world Jr's

Berra is in for the Swiss against Denmark right now.
Swiss lead 2-1 through 2. Reto has stopped 18 of 19 shots against.

Reto Berra: Denmark makes 33 shots = 32 saves, 1 goal. Switzerland top 4 - 1

Brodie hasn't looked too bad, certainly not as good as he did at the end of the season but that is to be expected with it being his first time playing for Canada and playing on international ice. That said hes been decent enough thus far and should be given more ice time then he has been. If nothing else he is by far Canada's best puck moving defenceman and likely one of the fastest players on the ice.
I won't complain tho as long as they continue to keep Schultz as a PP specialist because oh boy does he look totally lost in his own zone, I mean scary bad. Cringe every time hes on the ice bad.

He is absolutely terrible, even on the PP!
I saw him single-handedly waste 1:15 of powerplay time just screwing around with the puck.

So are we getting a better read on Berra yet? Is he looking better than was expected? I havent gotten a chance to watch him play yet in this tourney but am really curious about his play.

Its really hard to draw meaningful comparisons from the WHC.

It looks like we are going to finish 2nd in our group and the Russians 3rd in their group. If it goes like other tourneys that will mean we'll play each other in the first round of playoffs, not good for either team.

my understanding is that group crossover won't happen until after the first round, so I believe that after the first round we are mostly likely going to play Sweden with the Swiss running rampant through the pool right now.
it'll be a fun game to watch, against sweden in sweden. I believe this was done so Finland was guaranteed the first playoff match in Finland, then the semis and final are in host sweden this year. (vice versa last year)
