Yeah that's what I'm trying to say

CW - (23) - Mikael Backlund - No brainer. He's oozing confidence right now.
CW - (23) - Paul Byron - He's the Heat's life force. At the very least he's a very good AHLer and speedy, somewhat skilled call-up.
RW - (23) - Akim Aliu - On the fence with him, but I say one more year. He needs to fix his floating issue.
FW - (22) - Greg Nemisz - One more year. It's not a matter of separating oneself from Sutter picks, it's a matter of seeing Nemisz play and he plays well when he's healthy. Not a big points guy by any means, but a decent checking winger who is borderline dominant along the boards in the AHL. He can be mean when he wants to and it's those games where he excels.
FW - (24) - Bryan Cameron
FW - (23) - Lance Bouma One-year deal. I'm worried about how he'll respond from a year-long injury. If he can be the player I watched in the three games he played this season, he can take over a game in the AHL.
FW - (23) - Carter Bancks One-year deal. He's the Heat's next captain IMO. A true blue leader who will do anything for a teammate.
FW - (22) - Gaelan Patterson

D - (23) - T.J. Brodie - No brainer. He's the new core.
D - (26) - Chris Butler - Bring him back for one more season ONLY BECAUSE defensive depth is important. I have a feeling Cundari and Breen can take his job next training camp.
D - (24) - Brady Lamb - Got a little better with more ice time, but really, he's been less effective than Drew MacKenzie who is here on a PTO and MacKenzie deserves that contract more.
D - (23) - Chris Breen - No brainer. He's a future Hal Gill IMO. Bottom pairing d-man who is a force on the PK and can fight well.
D - (22) - Mark Cundari - He can take a game over on the back end. Mean, physical, a real a-hole on the ice, but off the ice he's just the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He's awesome and I think he'll be a full-time Flame next season.

Bolded are the guys that I think Feaster takes another flyer on for at least one more season.

In the perfect world, I think these guys deserve an NHL contract next season:

Drew MacKenzie
Tyler Ruegsegger

Good. The Flames need a-holes on the ice.

Hal Gill is the under appreciated guy who is rode out of Toronto, getting the respect Sarich does here, then wins a cup in Pitt. Because management values role players and understand pieces that comprise winners

Begin would never have Beena flame if he was healthy

Begin was probably more so a replacement for Bouma than Cervenka
