I don't think so.

Neither one is really that proven enough to get a big offer sheet that the Flames couldn't easily match and if there is a team dumb enough to way overspend then we get a good return of draft picks back for them.

Top level RFA's might have the advantage because there are multiple teams willing to give them huge cap changing deals but as good as Brodie has played neither him nor Backlund are close to that level.

Yeah, having a couple of the young guys really step it up this year and deserve a big raise. Bummer for the Flames.

Yeah, not too worried, given our cap situation and everything. But still, I think there's a good chance of overpayment.

I don't - they're both RFAs.

I would think Backlund gets something like a two-year, $4 or $5M deal (2 - 2.5 AAV)

And Brodie, because his growth has been quicker and more consistent, might get 3 or 4 years in the $3-4M range per.

If they get a little more than that I wouldn't be upset.

I don't think either one gets $5M per or anything like that.

And since cap space will not be a concern for at least 4 or 5 years, no worries.
