You would get laughed at so hard with that demand. Bautista's trade value is nowhere near Darvish.

It would be nice to explore the kind of returns that those two might fetch especially if they were packaged together, however EE is the Jays most productive hitter and his contract is so team friendly the value coming back would have to be extremely high in order for AA to explore that. Jose is simply the face of the Jays and I don't expect them trading him any time soon.
A lot of people have suggested trading relief guys like Cecil and Janssen, which I agree with.

Agree with EE having a really good contract. He is also still at an age where he should still produce close to what he currently does. Right now I keep him and see what Bautista would return. Comes down to can you fix the pitching for next year. If you think you can keep them both. If not can you get prospects who are a year or less away from being in the majors.

I would laugh at the trade too, but you don't trade a guy that has been voted to the allstar game 3 straight years without getting an amazing player in return. Darvish is the only guy I'd want, so that's who I mentioned.

I would think that Profar would the target if the Jays talking about trading EE and Bautista.
Probably not happening but if I am a Jays fan I would want him included and the Lawrie experiment over.

With Kinsler signed for 4 more years, and Andrus being a young guy it may something that could happen. Not sure if the Rangers have an idea to move Kinsler to a different position eventually. If Texas is going to add a guy they won't want to be taking away from their current roster too much. I actually thought they would be more after a left handed power bat to try and replace Hamilton as Cruz and Beltre already give them right handed sluggers. But the report I read had them inquiring about Encarnacion, Bautista, and Stanton from the Marlins. Unless it's in advance of them feeling Cruz could be on the way out.

I don't think Texas will add anything significant this year. Maybe if they are back in a race come the August deadline but the A's have really pulled away in the division now, 6 ahead of Texas. And if they do make a move, I expect it will be for pitching more than a bat.

Frank Castillo possibly dead from drowning in Arizona. Police are searching for his body. Sad, I remember him as a quiet and solid player a few years ago.

Was hoping to enjoy watching a late night Jays game. Doesn't look like I'll be sticking around to watch much more of this.
Just so disappointing.

I think if the Jays stand pat and don't sell off some pieces, then AA should get fired. This team is an embarrassment.

There's still time to make deals after July 31 and probably big moves would be made in offseason.
Firing him now would be premature.

AA's highly intelligent. No chance in hell should he be dumped after showing the way he think from his crazy off-season. Too bad the team is stinking, but nobody could have seen this coming. Until he shows that he's incompetent, there is absolutely no reason I see for getting rid of him.

I agree. I certainly wasn't expecting another Cy Young season from R.A. Dickey, or for Johnson to be pre- surgery good, but at least league average would be somewhat palatable. I don't think AA could foresee such awful pitching from what seemed like proven starting pitchers, nor could he foresee the Morrow injury. Beurhle has been pretty much exactly what I expected from him, and has been our most consistent starting pitcher. Then losing J.A. Happ just made things worse.
The Jays can hit, I don't see scoring runs as a major problem. Perhaps they could get some more production from the bottom of the line up, and there are a few too many free swinging hitters, but the glaring issue has been starting pitching and this needs to get sorted out somehow in the offseason.

Yep, the Starting Pitching has just really under performed.
Josh Johnson has been horrible who would have never guessed that.
Morrow being hurt, JA Happ getting hurt... never helped.
As others have stated AA built this team with a 3 year plan. I would guess changes are required (more then a tweak but not a rebuild).
For example, Jays should move some of the Relief Pitching prior to the Non Waiver Trade Dead line that occurs tomorrow. Darren Oliver, Brett Cecil and Steve Delebar all should be shopped.
I would think the Jays will place Josh Johnson on the IR, there must be something wrong with this guy.
As for position players, Jays should see if anyone would take Emilio Bonifacio. I think he is a pending UFA.

Think the poor pitching has hurt our batters as well.
Always easier for the other pitcher when he is spoted a 4-0 lead. Plus you are never as patient as a batter when your team is down already, when your team is down you are always looking for the home run to put some quick runs on the board.
Pitching has hurt this team in many ways this season.

The Jays can definitely hit, I don't think that's the root of the problem. I wouldn't be opposed to moving Bautista if the return was decent.

Well that was a stupid throw by Bautista. Dickey doesn't deserve to be down 1-0 right now.

That was an athletic series of events. Feel bad for Brett as that was Dickey just crumpling for no reason.
