Iggy is a great player and a good guy but the way I look at is that Iggy forced this trade by not negotiating with Feaster. He's looking out for himself as he always has done. Good luck but I won't forget that it was your choice.

Flames traded their star player Kent Nilsson to Minnesota for a draft pick that it turned out to be the next star player Joe Nieuwendyk. Then Nieuwy got traded to Dallas for a good prospect that turned out to be our star player and captain Iginla.

The flames had their chance in 2010/2011 when Brayden Schenn was the rumoured return. Iggy isn't what he used to be. Not happy with the return but we all expected too much for a 35 year old pending UFA.

Thank jebus. My biggest fear was Iginla walking in the summer for nothing.
At least (it appears) the Flames will get something for him.

Yeah. This is how I feel as well.

Draft Pick

Not sure how anybody could be disappointed with the return, the guy is the absolute definition of a rental player, and in a shortened season. If the Bruins lose out in the first round, they just paid a massive price for a guy who might only play 20 ish games before becoming a UFA.

Wow this sucks!
How does Feaster keep his job? You know, build a team with all wingers and ship Iginla out cause its his fault that Feaster can't build a team properly?
And why the heck can't this team make the trade on a day off so that the organization can do the classy thing and send their all time best player off in class as opposed to a middle if the game "oh by the way we just traded Iginla, enjoy the rest if the game"
Unbelievable.

Garbage post. Iggy deserves to try and win a cup and at least we got assets back for him

how come we don't know who we got, or is it the same trade. Russian plus 7th rd defence man, who Feaster will tell us they were targeting from the beginning. What a gong show

Tyler Seguin better be the return.
So now we would finally have that #1 Centre to play with Iginla

I'd like to say I'm beyond caring about millionaire athletes and their careers but this is different. What a somber feeling. Been watching Iggy for his entire career, pretty much half of my life. Truly a privilege to have watched him play for this team.

Don't kill the messenger here. Bruins are telling me no deal in place for Jarome Iginla and no deal will be done tonight.

It would be embarrassing for Ward if the Flames later on announce that Iginla got traded to Pittsburgh Penguins.
Anyways, i am just sad to see Iggy go. I always want him to be the Flames forever. I am pissed!!

Had to get on early with this news. I liked hearing the Iggy chant just now during the game. We'll miss you Iggy, you are simply the best!
