Nieuwendyk and Iginla linked again...Dallas should be thankful they got such good value for Morrow.

He's a consolation prize if you have to over pay out your bottom to get him in response to morrow.
I am sure both Pittsburgh and Boston have talked to feaster about iginla, but obviously made serious pitches to Dallas first.
It's not a stretch at all to believe the cost of acquiring iginla is a poison pill and is likely a last ditch effort for a team compelled to compete with the lesser priced additions of their peers.
Boston may very well go hard at iginla now, but I don't think he was their primary interest given what we saw today with morrow.
That's the extent of my comment.

That is not close to a definition of a consolation prize.
I think you actually just described how Morrow is the consultation prize.

I'm shocked they gave up Joe for him, I would rather have seen Joe be part of a Iggy trade. But who is to say this is all the pens will do? Morrow to me is like the Gill trade in 09 and Roberts in 08. They could just as easy still be in on Iggy.

He's a gifted offensive player, really gifted. I think a lot of questions coming when he was drafted was his skating but he's pretty much answered those. I think, along with many others, that he'll transition to the NHL rather nicely.

If Feaster finds a way to #### this up by overpricing Iginla so that he won´t get traded...

Sounds like the return is Joe Morrow in a 'package'.. guessing there will be a pick added to that.
If this is the case, a 1st and top prospect for Iggy is looking very realistic. Spooner and a 1st... Spooner and a 1st.. comon BONES!!!

Iggy as a consolation prize LOL.
Morrow has 500 odd points in his career. Iginla has 500 goals. Yeah that's a consolation prize. What a joke.

That's a pretty good return for Morrow especially if a high draft pick is involved.

I guess. In the bigger picture, HF ranks him 45th among prospects. While I admittedly have only seen him play on the 67's, he doesn't seem like he has top line NHL speed or more importantly, quickness, and that's a fairly large negative for me.

Can someone please explain the fascination with Spooner? He's a tiny 5'10, 180lb center who was barely a point a game in his overage year in the OHL.
