This is our team, we gotta support it not trash it. It's also sickening to hear all all these "trade Iginla" chants, he's the captain, heart and soul of this team and he isn't going anywhere I hope. If he does it'll be a sad day for Calgary. I'd like to see the look on your face when Mackinnon becomes a bust and you will be stuck with watching Peverley on a daily basis.
So instead of 29th, we'd be even worse.... That's nearly impossible.

Your chance of a bust in the top 3 is like 10 percent, I would not say that is a good chance

It doesn't matter. Mackinnon would be a huge building block for the future of this team if we are able to grab him. Regardless of wether he is a bust or not the management would be stupid passing him up if he was available.

I doubt this ends up happening. Iginla is a classy guy, so if he knows he's not going to re-sign at the end of the year, I'm sure he'll tell management by the deadline, thus leading to them working up a trade.

If not, all signs point to him staying in Calgary, because I doubt that he would just walk in July.

We're 28th in the league and tied for last in the West, we can't suck too much more then we already do.

It's not like he couldn't be traded at the deadline for picks/prospects and then return in July. One thing people should know from watching the flames, players tend to return.

Mackinnon could turn out to be a bust, like anybody could. But more lines in the water gives you more chances to catch a big fish.

Believe it or not, there are still six teams with worse points percentage than the Flames.

Philly, Washington, Tampa Bay, Colorado, Buffalo and Florida.

Fire everybody! The owners, the management, the coaches, the players. And just to be extra safe, fire the equipment mangers, trainers, and anybody else who has anything remotely to do with the team. The entire organization is cursed!

He said he wants to win, preferably in CGY.

That ain't happening, he will not block a deal to a contender.

It's like putting down an animal, gut wrenching and emotional, but you know it needs to be done.

Hudler signed for another 3 years
Wideman signed for another 4 years

These two contracts are starting to look like "veteran leadership during a rebuild" contracts.

Especially when the entire press conference for the Hartley hiring revolved around how "exciting" the Flames would be not how we'd win more games. We're definitely more entertaining to watch - just like how the Oilers have been exciting to watch the past couple years.

And we would have made the playoffs in 2010 if we were in the east based on points.

Don't know why you are looking for small victories, 13 days until ka-boom!

Add in Glencross, Giodano, and Tanguay who are all beyond next year if I recall correctly, and there's your Valeri Bure, Cory Stillman, Derek Morris, and Jonas Hoglund's of yesteryear.

I don't consider it a victory of any kind, was just sayin', as bad as we've been we still aren't in MacKinnon/Jones territory unless we win the lottery.

You know what's been the one constant since our Stanley Cup win and two-decade old suckage? It's been painfully obvious all along. Harvey the Hound. How did we not see this before. Don't the Dinos do well in football? Lets get that Dino mascot to start subbing in, and put the dog out for good!

Lets not kid ourselves, the Oilers are not exciting to watch unless you're excited by blown defensive assignments and poor passing.
