As for chinook taking a pr/financial hit - ha ha ha, this event will be forgotten in a week.......
They'll have to look for new rent a cops to replace the ones that get fired.

Nice use of cop show lingo - "the perp". What exactly did he "perpetrate"? I guess bad fashion sense? I can't argue with that, although I don't know if it's grounds for a beatdown from a bunch of untrained (and too goddamn stupid to see the camera) shopping mall employees.

Chinook is already taking a PR hit. This story is all over the news. I guarantee they'd prefer it didn't happen, even if it's forgotten in a week.

The real financial hit will probably be felt by the clowns who get fired for this. That will be good PR.

Tough break, boys. Back to whatever crap gig you had before you moved up to to the ill-fitting-uniform mall guy.

I like the guy that yells "WHAT!?" at 56 seconds into the video like he's some kind of badass, with 4 of his buddies holding the guy down. Oh lawwd.

The video said that he was on a first date. Wonder if she'll agree to a second date.

There are a bunch of reasons that people do that job, it is a thankless job in which there are good people who are never rewarded or thanked and there are bad people who make their way onto youtube. That being said to go around and insult an entire group of people, particularly from someone who has likely never had a real job is pretty stupid in itself.

In this case in particular it looks like there was at least one idiot in the group and maybe more.

The odds were against him when he brought a girl on a first date to a mall.

She must like the bad boy image, and maybe this incident has amplified the attraction.

I mean, she's already agreed to a date with the face-and-neck-tattooed, indoor-toque-wearing, habitual-weed-smoking 31 year old. Maybe the flippant escalator-sitting, coffee cup tossing and getting kicked out of a sanitized suburban shopping mall just sweetens the deal.

The guy definitely looks like a skid and I feel safe saying that he probably doesnt contribute alot to society but that video didn't look good. I will say that it's harder to control someone who is twisting and squirming than you'd think but there was some extremely unprofessional and possibly criminal behaviour displayed by those guards.

Again, I dont know anyone who carries scissors, nor do i know what size they were, but my educated guess is that they weren't just for trimming cabbage and likely had ill intentions behind them as much as anything else.

The story has a human interest element to it and this provides more information and context on that front. I don't think the relevance is a stretch, nor that everything posted has to be critically relevant.

If the names of the security guards were made public, the information about themselves that they've made freely available and widely accessible might be of interest and tangential relevance too.

It's fairly common for weed smokers to carry scissors around.

Fairly common? I've known many tokers over the years and never did I see scissors. Unlike Mr. Face Tattoo here however they were gainfully employed and thus bought what is fairly common, a buster.

^Yeah, to be fair, I figured it was a cooking-related thing. Not that having/liking knives for other reasons is a crime.

He works in a restaurant as a cook, so that might have something to do with his affinity for what are clearly cooking knives. Maybe you could say he likes knives in the same way a carpenter likes hammers, or a how a cab driver likes three-tonne killing machines.

As for the scissors, he cuts his weed up with them. He said that, so no need for educated guesses. The cops didn't seem to think they were a big deal, or that he was carrying them for "ill intentions", since they let him go.

Really, I don't know if I'll ever forgive you guys for making me defend a dude with face tatts and a Marilyn Manson t-shirt, but this guy could have had a swastika on his forehead and Pierre Trudeau t-shirt and he still wouldn't deserve that kind of treatment from a bunch of rent-a-guards who don't have the authority to give anyone that kind of treatment.

These are mall cops, not police officers. The guy was outside the mall, and we have video evidence of them beating the crap out of him. Video evidence of a security guard holding a couple of them back for christ's sake. What more do you need?

Maybe he was a dick... so what? There are plenty of dicks in the world, and we don't let a bunch of untrained fools in uniforms whoop their asses.

I'm surprised that no one has commented on the pic in his facebook profile that says "hey ladies! treat your man right! a blowjob a day keeps the hookers away!"
