It isn't even close to how much better Kings fans are than Flame fans at the Saddledome. Much more passionate and loud than the library at the

And I'm sure if Columbus had just won the cup the season prior and were playing well, Nationwide arena would be both passionate and admirably loud too..

Iginla will go on his usual late season tear, Kipper will get hot, and the team will make its annual run, and sneak into the 9th spot, as usual.

I'm just waiting to see what kind of reactionary knee-jerk move Feaster will make in response to this weekend that he will claim was not reactionary or purposely timed in order to apply some sparkly glitter to the pig and distract the fans from the inevitable and 'intellectually' honest truth about where this team is at.
Wait for it...

ya, my bet he trades babchuk or sarich, and a pick, for a 30+ trending downwards player on a multi-year contract..

I can't believe there are still Flames fans on here that watch every one of these games religiously. If I were to tune in this whole season I would probably hang myself. The games I know that will be losses like this I just check the score for in the morning. You guys deserve recognition for sticking to it even in the face of overwhelming depression, haha.

No we are all just trolls, the REAL fans are those who are loyal to Iggy and want him re-signed long term and for mediocrity to continue, cause I mean look at what Iggy has done for us, he's the best player we've ever had and we must ride him till he retires.

9 wins, 14 losses... to get to playoffs we need roughly 15 wins, 10 losses (including OTL/SOL) in our remaining 25 games.

It's no fun. That is for sure.
Flames fans need to unite for the next home game. Start a 'we want change' chant or something.
I think it is very unfortunate that the best thing for the Flames right now is to lose. Not for the high draft pick. But because that is the only way to convince management that change is needed.
There are around 6 guys on the planet that think this team can win without big changes. Unfortunately they happen to own and manage the team.

No fun has to be an understatement, haha. It's not even any fun arguing over management wanting to rebuild or not. Just a really crappy season made crappier by past ones. It's not even entertaining any longer for me.

I actually force myself from some sense of sadistic loyalty. I haven't enjoyed watching in sine time

i'm all in for cheering for losses now.
i don't think the management group is smart enough to make the right decisions if we stick with the 0.500 trend.
i am cheering for the jackets/avs/oilers to jump the flames in the standings. you'd have to think if that happens over the next few weeks, there is absolutely NO WAY the flames don't make changes.

Yup we need to start losing consistently, but we won't. I'm thinking Feaster would most likely be the man who gets fired if we finish close to the bottom.

Why the panic over losing to the Stanley Cup champs and one of the few teams that are likely to dethrone them? We're all in agreement that this team is not a playoff team, but it's probably not bad enough to get to a top 3-5 pick. Then if we're going to be sellers, which players are we going to sell, and who's likely to buy? Most of our "pretty good" players are on overpaying contracts. Kipper would be a bargain, but his play this year isn't consistent enough for a contender with a goaltending need to give up much to get him. Iginla might get us a 20-30th first round pick. Glencross, Backlund and Brodie would be the best candidates for blow-up trades, but I doubt many of us would like to see them punted. I think Feaster is stuck with riding this one to the end of the trail, maybe making one or two trades that won't appreciably change the outcome (20-25th place finish), and hope for improvement through expiring contracts, our prospects, and a free agent or two.
Business as usual.

If they totally screw up this season in terms of asset management and it gets Feaster fired, then it's almost worth it.

Well if we aren't making the play-offs then why ice an old, declining team and not bring up some young players to get them experience and see what they are?

Guys like Iginla, Kipper, Bouwmeester, Wideman, Tanguay, Cammy, Stajan, Stempniak, Giordano, Sarich, Butler, Glencross are all guys that could be moved and bring something back in return.

Brodie would be a terrible guy to move and Backlund isn't bringing much (if anything) back so no point moving him at this point really.
