I'm for ANYTHING that will possibly get Comeau to the pressbox and we need a pest. He's no Tootoo or anything but what the hell give him a game or two. It's too bad Bouma has been out all year, he would've been perfect. As for Horak, it must mean Sven is close and he's the easiest to send down. It's unfortunate, and it is the total opposite of the meritocracy that was preached at the beginning of the year, but so far this season has been a bit of a disaster, so why not keep the ball rolling in that direction. What's the update on Backs? Needed him back like a week ago.

Thank you Ward, Feaster, ect for finally coming around.
I don't care if Alui is not the best skater, or not good defensivly.
He is here to crush and smash the opponents into the boards.
To agitate to stand up for team mates. To face wash opponents in scrums ect.
A 6'3 225lb 23 yr old agitator and he was available from day 1.
He is here as a energy role player and should have been up from day 1.
I laughed when Feaster kept saying prior to the season we are looking for a 4th line grinder someone the other team doesn't like to play against.
I thought wtf Feaster you have 1 in the Heat do you not know what you have.
I have no doubt in my mind that Ward said Alui isn't ready for the NHL skill wise.
That is not and probably won't ever be his hockey strength. His hockey strength JMO is he is a prick that would rather have on your bench then on the opposition.
I'm glad Alui gets the call and for the love of physical hockey keep him here regardless of rookie mistakes he will make.

I can totally agree with that statement, Aliu is best when he is on your bench. The less time on the ice the better.....

So Stajan is the ONLY true centre on the team?

At this point might as well bring up Aliu and see if he brings some energy to the team.
Besides, for Saturday they need someone to out-muck phucking Clutterbuck.

Cycling deck chairs on the titanic.
Jones, Horak and Aliu are not going to make any difference.

I disagree.
I would say Aliu is at his best when he is on the ice for your opponent and the more time he is on the ice in that case the better...

If Aliu can tick players off and in the process get a whole opposing team off its game, like he somehow managed to do against anaheim, then sure why not.
But if Feaster wants to truly do something useful, he can get all over the O'Reilly situation and try to make some noise there. After all, we've only got 2 active centers.

whatever... Hockey is a contact sport and the Flames management has forgotten that.
Teams that get pushed around lose period.
Teams that have too many perimeter players can easily be shut down.
If your 4th line players are not playing physical always then they are not effective and they need to be replaced.

So adding a guy that was a healthy scratch at the AHL level and doesn't play overly physical is going to change that?

you need to have physical players on lines that actually get ice time and then you can sprinkle the line-up with knuckle-draggers on the 4th line.
one AHLer getting few shifts here and there isn't going to change anything if the players actually getting the ice time are playing with their purses in hand.

That is true, but Stay Golden is correct, your 4th line should be a physical line. Not sure if Aliu is the answer, but he is probably the closest thing to a physical bruising prospect the Flames have right now who is not injured.

I think a NHL paycheque is a big incentive for a minor leaguer. The whole thing with Aliu is that he doesn't play up to his potential, the big money may light a fire under his a$$. It seemed to do something last time.

Yes and the Flames need to keep him up they badly are missing this element. Other teams are coming into our building and licking their chops laughing this is going to be easy.
The Flames are not just losing they are voluntarily going quitly into the night.

Other teams will still come into our building and do that.
A guy that doesn't fight outside of a few times picking his spots, is inconsistent and lazy, is easy to play against and will play at best 8-10 minutes isn't changing how anyone views playing this team.
If anything adding Aliu will make teams happier to play against the Flames.

Aliu's game doesn't work that well in the AHL but the NHL is a different story, Matt Cooke would have had no career in the AHL because pests dont work there. NHL stars don't like being smoked, facewashed and trashed talked at every turn.
Cooke,Lapierre,Tootoo..etc have had nice career's being pricks.
This team needs an arsehole, even if it's for 4 minutes a game

So the possible lineup,
Hudler-Cervenka-Iginla
Glencross-Stajan-Cammalleri
Baertschi-Tanguay-Stempniak
Aliu-Begin-Jackman
Comeau
Will look better when Backlund is back!
