I thought the game was going south after the second period. Only thing with the Flames they never carry over the momentum. Tomorrow we will be down 3-0 in the 1st, let's hope not .

Btw, that take down by Begin was horrible. I like the player, but that's a dirty thing to do. Keep those out of the game.

I disagree. It's something that takes strength and effort. It's unconventional, but, made for a great first period of play.

Best FA signing of the year.
He's the reason we have a been getting a lot of flow through our transition game in the neutral zone we this team is on their game. We haven't had a QB on the point for the PP like this really since Phaneuf's rookie year.

I just think it's easy for a player to get injured that way. Fist to fist is one thing, trying to take each other down with skates on is another thing.

This is the joy of the game though, two sides who see it differently, yet can enjoy the win together!

It's hockey not MMA. Takedowns on the ice are dangerous as you have heads possibly hitting the ice and skate blades in the air. I hope tonight's takedown remains an isolated incident.

thought the Begin takedown looked pretty cool but have to agree...when you are on the ice...keep it to fists in the mush.

Is this a new thing this year for Begin? Tried the same stuff in his last fight, or something similar. Maybe he was trying to flip him over his back.

Wether he has or not, his game against the Blues, like most other Flames was not good.

Some kind of push back in this one!

Good to see them fight to come back.

I liked the lines they settled into for now as well.

Tanguay - Cammalleri - Iginla
Glencross- Stajan - Stempniak
Cervenka - Horak - Hudler
Comeau - Begin - Jackman

Hope they keep them this way until we get another body back.

Good win. Liked the effort out there.

Would like to see Taylor start in net tomorrow though.

Lines I would like to see start tomorrow:

Tanguay - Stajan - Iginla
Hudler - Horak - Cervenka
Glencross - Cammalleri - Stempniak
Comeau - Begin - Jackman
I'd go with
Glencross-Stajan-Stempniak
Cervenka-Horak-Hudler
Cammalleri-Tanguay-Iginla

The czeching line looked fine, agreed. Although Hudler-Cervenka tend to make everyone look good

However I'd like to keep Stajan with Glencross and Stempniak for many reasons.

First, I think messing with lines that work to ignite players who are not playing their best is generally a bad idea. Besides the fact that it's pretty much the exact opposite of meritocracy, I think has a tendency to create a never-ending shuffling process and makes it hard to get really good chemistry going.

There will also always at any given time be some guys that are off their game. Worrying about that is a distraction to everybody.

Besides, Iginla brings close to the same results with most guys. And, if you are looking for a spark plug for Iginla, I think Cammalleri is more likely to get results.

So I'd rather start from giving Stajan the right wingers than the other way around. Glencross-Stempniak and Cervenka-Hudler have been the best fits.

Last, Glencross works very well with Stajan and Stempniak, and whether Glencross is on or off makes a huge difference.
