Khaliff Mitchell reportedly said he wants his release from Toronto.
He said he wants to play for the Stampeders as they had shown interest.
This was talked about on TSN.
It would help the defense for sure.

More quality stuff from the assclown himself AKA Khalif Mitchell .
Quote:
“I told Wally in his face that if he ever traded me you might as well get a new offensive line, because I’m going to go to a team that’s going to kill you,” Mitchell said after discussing the deal Tuesday with coach Mike Benevides.
|
Quote:
“I don’t want to burn a bridge [in Toronto], but I’m trying to figure things out and ask for a release,” said Mitchell, who does not have an agent. “What gives [the Lions]the right [to make a trade]? What’s the purpose of calling it an option year? Just call it a we-own-you year. I’m trying to benefit so I can go and whip [B.C.’s] ass next year. If B.C. doesn’t want me, B.C. should just release me.
|
Quote:
“I called Wally twice last week and he never returned [the calls]. We got the same owner [as Toronto]; was this some little under-the-table type thing? There’s a whole bunch of questions I got to ask.”
|
Quote:
“He wasn’t a very good team player,” Harris said when asked if his Twitter comment was directed at Mitchell. “It was always about Khalif.”
|
Quote:
Just as they didn’t forget the reasons why linebacker Anthony Reddick was cut after finding no trade takers last week, the Lions never forgot the arm-twisting gesture, throat-slashing move and racial tweet that was largely responsible for Mitchell’s six-game absence last season.
“There’s no doubt that someone’s body of work includes all those things, but it was all about moving on,” said Benevides.

No thanks.
This guy is a jackass and not close to good enough to justify his moronic actions on and off the field.

He'd fit right in on the Stamps
But no way I want him in the West - keep him out East. Less chance for injuries against the West that way

I assume he meant to say all 7 teams that actually follow the cap are under and the team in Saskatchewan once again isn't but we are the CFL and aren't going to do anything about it.

Or right in with the Riders right next to Dwight Anderson's locker!

Still can't believe that Pierce is their guy. If you go to a Bombers game and Buck Pierce is starting there is a statistical probability of 50% that he won't finish that same game. This is based on a career of over 50 starts, so that stat is statistically significant. The Bombers are an absolute joke.

Stampeders have traded for and signed former Indianapolis Colts Superbowl winning Offensive lineman Dan Federkeil.
Dan had retired due to concussions but he's cleared to play now and signed a 3 year deal with the Stamps. Still only 29, will be a beast if he's healthy.

I predict Stefan Charles doesn't get picked early or at all. He is drawing a lot interest from the NFL and likely will be a 3rd-5th round pick next weekend.
Speaking of the draft:
Interesting scenario being talked about in Calgary. Stamps trade K. Glenn to Winnipeg for high pick. Risky with Mitchell as backup to Tate

I still think Mitchell will turn out to be the vastly superior QB to Tate

^^not sure what I think of that Monicker...first response suggests pathetic. Doesnt come across as a North American football name.
Its like they couldnt come up with anything besides the color of the team jerseys and decided to name the team after those. Hopefully the new management isnt as bad at running the team as choosing a new name.

I know I posted this in the NFL Draft Thread, I'll post it here as well as this could effect next weeks CFL Draft.
Stefan Charles signed with the Tennessee Titans.
Andy Mulumba signed with the Green Bay Packers.
Jorgen Hus signed with the St. Louis Rams.
C.O. Prime signed with the Indianapolis Colts.

Redblacks? In 2013?
With marketing, branding, media and social media playing such a big influence in perception and affiliation with a team, and you have a clean slate to start and years to come up with something, you come up with that? Two colors as the team name?
Nevermind, in this PC world, the tinge of racial question marks, from afar, cannot be ignored.
Absolutely assinine.
Ok, Rough Riders doesn't work...ok, don't want to do the Renegades again...fine.....but Redblacks? I am sure hundreds of thousands of dollars was spent by some branding agency to come up with something so utterly boring and without any character or identity, or even a nickname.
It sounds like a name that a owner in the 1940's would make up, in one of those Canadian "Heritage Moments":
When sitting down in Toronto at the York Hotel with his top hat and the Commissioner of the CFL, the owner is there to sign the franchise documents, is asked what the team name is going to be.
Perplexed, the team owner asking his errand boy who made the trip with him "Young Jimmy, what color shirts will be wearing this year"?
"Well sir, we were supposed to get yellow and blue shirts, but Bobby sent me a telegram yesterday and the shipment from Montreal via train came yesterday, and they sent us Red and Black uniforms".
"Well that settles it. Mr. Commissioner, our name will be the RedBlacks".
