If you're heading north the best way to exit Quarry Park is to head north on 18 St. and then exit on to Glenmore.

Have fun making a left turn across non-stop traffic. I've done it, sometimes you can be waiting up to ten minutes.

That's actually probably better than 24th. I always discount it since I am normally coming from or going to Ogden Rd if I am in that area.

That really can't be that bad, but maybe my experience has just been lucky. If that's the case though, just take 18th. It is a bit slower due to stop signs and multiple sets of lights, but wouldn't have that issue getting onto Glenmore.

Rather unfortunate as it needs work ASAP.
Found this page on www.calgary.ca that outlines the cities 3 phase plan for 24th street.

I am curious as to how they plan to widen 24 street.

There are bldgs on the east side right now that are approx 20-30 feet above road level.

According to a friend who lives in Riverbend, that cannot take any thing else away from that slope to widen the roadways.

There was a segment on CBC radio this morning about this. Realtors are saying it's a great time to buy in the area before the inevitable run-up once the move gets into full swing.

I've never heard a realtor say it's a bad time to buy.

I should list my house in Douglas Glen for $100k more than I paid for it and see what happens.

Looking at it right now...some pretty steep slopes at the end of Quarry Park Blvd...

Don't worry QP'ers, Nenshi has the traffic solution all ready to go:

Based on the City's recent transit "vision", that's not quite the speedy fix to traffic woes QP'ers were looking for.

You have to wonder if tenants like this moving into Quarry park might help that timeline along a little.

If it takes priority away from the 8th ave subway, that's just another strike against IOL and QP.

I'm pretty sure the route ahead plan already had LRT to quarry park ahead of the 8th avenue subway.

If only there was a magical place where businesses could cluster together, so they could be close enough to share transit and other amenities, and their employes could get to easily already.

I would be totally down with that kind of town.

Yes, but it shouldn't. I meant 'priority' in a more fluid sense.

Took a drive through Quarry Park the other day - came back and was doing some searching on it and came across this thread.

Looks like they've started the buildings. Housing looks slow to get going though. SFH's, thought there would be more done by now. The apartment or condo buildings look to be moving along. Other than that just a big retail strip with what I'd expect to be the most quiet Coop in Calgary.

Has Riverbend had the expected improvement like a few people thought? Or Douglessglen? We're 12-18 months from first occupancy and 3+ years until the move is complete. Some nice areas west of 18th street. Housing prices seem pretty good given it's a 20 minute drive to DT close to some major arterial roads and the river paths and Carburn park.

Anyone live in the area find traffic worse? Actually that's a dumb question since nothing has changed since the thread started. Any more feedback from employees that will be quitting or moving (unfortunate NW'rs).

The 24th street heading north is a bit of a mess. Never had been along that road and found the connection to Ogden Road or Shepard Road awful.

Just figured the thread was good for a bump.
