Miles had the rifle in his hand, and he didn't go more than 10 feet away while fighting Strausser. Take the extra second on your way out to grab the rifle. Sure, ammo is scarce, but at least you're halfway there.

I feel like they're too set on this Hunger Games bow and arrows idea.

I had such high hopes for this show. But in the end it is like the hot chick in the bar that you work all night to pick up. You get her home and get her gear off only to find she is aweful in bed.........

I added the spoiler tag to the title, there aren't many of us still watching and the spoilers take away from the discussion.

Was that the mid-season and/or the series finale? Seems like it; wrap up the one ongoing storyline and then open up a whole new big can of worms.

I am glad that when Monroe's men saw him fighting, they didn't just stand by and "let them sort it out themselves." Or at least Monroe just ordered them to kill Miles.

The one thing that bugged me a bit was the helicopter at the end. Obviously Monroe had some time to find somebody who knew how to fly one before the blackout, but how hard would it be? It was obviously the first time it had power in 15 years- a few issues I can think of....
- Would the fuel still be good after 15 years?
- Would the pilot still remember how to fly? Seems like it would be something that you would have practice a bit after that long off.
- What about the maintenance? I would think a lot of what would keep the helicopter running would not have been done over the years.

The logic in most post apocalyptic shows is usually void of any reason.

My first guess is that they would have simulators that they would train on but since they have no power that wouldn't be possible.

You think that the fuel would either evaporate from constant exposure or people burning it as a fuel source.

In the end its a TV show a graphic novel or book would help explain a little bit more of the back story.

The thing that pissed me off was after the fight he goes "I wish I'd killed you the first time" and instead of following through on that and just shooting him, drops the gun and has a sword fight that anyone with a brain could see was going to end in a stalemate. Ridiculous.

Monroe's obviously been working towards getting tanks/copters ready for most of the season and therefore likely have taken all the preliminary steps to getting them ready before the pendant amplifier was finished. The shows credits talk about the militias stockpiling weapons. With the territory Monroe controls I don't think it would be hard to find some stockpiles of fuel. He also probably found or hunted down someone who could work as a mechanic. Finding a pilot seems harder than the rest but not completely out of the question. Especially with his military background he has potentially recruited people he knew pre-blackout with those abilities.

I didn't find that part particularly unbelievable. The power going out in the first place is far more unbelievable than Monroe finding, maintaining and having someone fly a helicopter with the pendant.

Agreed. And not just the power going out, but basically the concept of electricity. Older cars without computers and electronic fuel injection systems would still work after an EMP, but in Revolution world even spark plugs seem not to work. I wonder, have any episodes shown a thunderstorm or lightning?

When you think about it, if somehow electrical currents suddenly ceased to work normally, many living organisms would not be able to function and would die, including humans.

yea it was going to be obvious and to be fair.. that would end a lot of the major story right there by killing munroe so quickly, that last statement can be applied to a lot of tv and movies (the bolded part) as they gotta keep the story going

That is true- the entire premise does leave something to be desired. It just seemed to happen way too fast. Both from the perspective of Monroe having the amplifier a matter of minutes, and that they had shown the helicopter having been hauled there by hand a few episodes earlier.

Then don't put them in the position where one character could easily kill the other but doesn't! Or put it in a position where Munroe could easily kill Miles, but instead pleads with him to come back and Miles appears to accept only to stab him (non-fatally, presumably, it's easier to sell a recovery from a knife wound) and runs away. It wouldn't be hard to write.

I disagree with the premise though; they only had to fail to kill Munroe if they need him as a character going forward. There are plenty of other villain possibilities, including one major one they introduced already (hawk-nosed guy who already has a bunch of electricity running). But like I say even if they want him to live there were other ways to do it than "Miles regrets his earlier failure to kill Munroe but for no readily apparent reason neglects to do so when given a second chance".

Bump, this comes back in one week, MArch 25, 2013.

I will give it another go, but am struggling to feel anything for the characters.

I thought it picked up some steam in the last few weeks, but I'm still not blown away by it. In terms of the whole post apocalyptic societies break down shows, Revolution makes me sad that Jericho was cancelled since it was just a far better show.

But I've invested time, so I'll see it through.

I hated the fact that they shelved this show for so long - as much as I liked Billy Bean in this (Charlie can take a hike tho...ugh!) I don't know that I care anymore about watching it. Think the network/producers etc did this show a dis-service by scheduling in such a long hiatus!

Well, I watched the latest episode. This show bugs me. There are a few things about it that really tear at me.

1. All the girls wear make up... Really? This is what makes the walking dead so cool. They actually dirty up by rolling in the dirt! There was a close up on the Charlie character and she is all done up with flesh tone make up and lip stick that pop her appearance but it makes it look fake.

2. It's trying to be a serious show, however, it's network campy. What I mean to say is, it feels like it's written for teenagers 13 - 19. This show belongs on the WB or whatever the network calls itself today.

I have no problems with suspension of belief for the power not working or that you have these little pendants that turn it on.

One dimensional characters. The only one truly struggling and showing any layer is still Nevile. I guess the google guy as he is over coming his fears but that's about it.

Spoiler!

Agreed, I had high hopes for the show, but far too many holes and problems in the show.....sad, because the idea is strong.
