Just a note that I found amusing today.
In Chinook Centre, below the escalators near the Starbucks at the North end, there is now a large Samsung kiosk that is promoting the SIII. They have demo phones, large billboards, and about 10 staff working. In the ~10 minutes I stood above them, not a single person stopped in, so the staff were restless, pacing around, etc.
At one point several of the employees had their personal phones out, texting or whatever.
Each one had an iPhone.

There you have it folks, a disturbingly creepy and purely anecdotal evidence on why the iPhone5 is better than anything Samsung.

Maybe people were in the actual stores buying a s3. 10 million phones a month is pretty impressive.

I honestly don't care if you like iPhone or Android better, I don't really get the "mine is better" because as long as you're happy with your technology, who really gives a ####?
But to stand there creepily watching Samsung employees and focusing on their phone types and presenting that in a serious fashion actually made me face palm.

So a random group of young people who got hired to do a short term minimum wage job mostly have IPhones......shocking.

What do you mean here, 3D mapping has been around on mobile devices since 2009?

Eh? I thought the S3 finally cleared 20 million after 100 days (as of last week) - their sales back ended for some reason?

Samsung's new TV ad for the Galaxy S III — which takes shots at Apple fanboys waiting for the iPhone 5 — is the fastest-growing viral video (see below) in tech, with more than 120,492 shares in social media in the past 24 hours, according to Unruly Media.

A separate Google Maps app is not currently available for sale from Apple, although Google's system can still be used via the iPhone's web browser.

Epic Apple Maps failures. Hilarious how a multi-billion dollar company can't get this right.

Never did understand why Apple was so quick to get rid of GoogleMaps (unless of course it went the other way, though I doubt it) when going with a new OS. GoogleMaps is a proven, well liked commodity. AppleMaps (if thats what its called) was bound to have issues upon startup. No doubt they'll be worked out eventually, but needless bad publicity here it seems.

Mom and pops/regular users who buy this hoping to get decent maps mine be in for a surprise
So, without Google maps, Apple doesn't have access to a lot of the tagged places as well as all the street view data Google's spent more than half a decade collecting. Seems like it shows too.

According to this
http://www.macrumors.com/2012/09/20/...-app-to-apple/
A maps app has been submitted. Who knows.
Would be good news. Google maps is awesome. The nice thing about an independent app is it will receive updates unlike the untouched iOS one prior to iOS 6 (feature enhancement)
