Maybe the Flames will finally have a good PP unit with these skill additions.

I love the signing, wanted Semin but knew that was unrealistic, I had Hudler ahead of Doan though for sure. Lots of skill, helps the powerplay, is only 28 and is now signed through his prime. He reminds me of a smaller euro version of Glencross. Good job Feaster

So now we have Hudler, Cervenka, Backlund, Stajan and Jones up the middle. I like that depth. Good to see Feaster addressing the teams biggest needs with his free agent signings. He gets a mobile puck-moving defenceman in Wideman, and a skilled centre in Hudler.

I don't want to get too excited about this team until I see the final roster on opening night, but I like what's being done so far.

Strickland calling him Stajan part 2. I like the signing. We need more offensive skill and we got some.

Well, it's refreshing to see positivity on this forum. How is TSN (over) reacting to this?

7.3 million, there's still room for Suter

Only real concern for me was the arbitration kerfuffle where he wound up playing a year in Russia - apparently because he didn't sign the arbitration documents himself.

2 years, 10 million. Downside being he had to be in Russia.

So some flight risk.

Am I in the minority that thinks this signing is a pretty solid one for the Flames. Don't see how this move could be seen as bad.

I would also add Karlsson to that list.

Although I suppose no more so than Mark Giordano.

He also had 8 helpers for 10 PP points. 20 % of your points coming from the powerplay isn't too shabby.

If he leaves, the Flames can terminate his contract and they owe him nothing.

From what I've gathered from this thread, Hudler will play RW.

The first 3 pages seemed positive, haven't got to reading the rest..... has it switched that quickly?? lol, good signing IMHO.
