Haha the English equivalent of this French would probably be along the lines of "Not does tase I bro!". Just made me chuckle.

In addition to the salute, chanting crowds have referred to local police officers as the "SS," calling them fascists and comparing them to Nazi police.

Swastikas have also appeared on anti-police pamphlets being distributed.

It's pretty ironic Montreal is home to Canada's greatest research university, yet is also clearly home to a bunch of Canada's biggest losers. Going to the Nazi card is probably not going to help drudge up support.

Quebec wallows in its cult of victimhood

http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/...of-victimhood/

It’s often difficult to be a rational progressive in Quebec. One may have legitimate arguments in favour of a tuition freeze, or even free post-secondary education, but they must defend their positions alongside those who label the current conflict “The Maple Spring” – because the struggle to pay $325 less next year in tuition is akin to the Arab struggle to oust murderous dictators.

The irony is that Quebec’s sub-par, under-funded and over-bureaucratized education system could be in large part responsible for the perpetuation of this widespread victim mentality. It may only end with an overhaul of our learning institutions, or an uprising – whichever comes first.

Quebec student protesters face spectre of criminal records for years to come

http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/06...years-to-come/

Protesting students may be collecting photos, videos and placards as souvenirs from these heady revolutionary days, but those who are arrested and fingerprinted may end up with a memory that haunts them for years.

Even without a conviction, some run-ins with the law cannot be completely erased, which could make it difficult for some to travel to the United States or get a job, legal experts and border control agents say.

Dozens of demonstrators filed through classrooms at UQAM, the University of Quebec's Montreal campus, where most students have voted to end their months-long boycott of courses but 9,000 largely humanities students are still on strike.

But tens of other classes, mainly in arts and humanities, were cancelled by Monday at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Spreading an increase of $1600 over 7 years to the cheapest tuition cost in the entire country. Spoiled students riot. Government capitulates.

I guess this means they'll light the place on fire all the time/for every little thing now.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/quebec...st-marois.html

Quebec's incoming Parti Québécois government will cancel the contentious university tuition hike that set off months of massive street protests and student unrest, premier-designate and party leader Pauline Marois said Wednesday afternoon.
