From what I've seen, he's progressed solidly this season.
Unlike Sven, Max plays on a very defensive team without much offensive help.

Yeah, Kootenay is not nearly as good as last year. Three of the four top forwards (Eakin, Fraser and King) graduated to pro hockey, leaving only Max. They also lost their top defenseman in Brayden McNabb. The Reinharts have basically carried the team this year. Plus Max is more of a two-way forward. Stats don't tell the whole truth in his case. I think he'll be just fine when he turns pro this summer ... maybe he won't go straight to Calgary and spend some time in Abby first, but I guess he'll get there sooner or later.

Going down 3-0 in the first round of his last WHL season is probably quite upsetting.

I imagine so, considering the run they went on last year.
Just showing some emotion, I suppose.

2-1 After 1 period for the Winterhawks, Baertschi with 2 assists. Rattie with another 2 goals. Those 2 are just lighting up the Rockets.

And that's all she wrote for the Calgary Hitmen, Dziurzynski scores for Brandon in overtime to eliminate Calgary after 5 games.

The Ice are done in a 3-1 loss. Brossoit made 14 saves on 15 shots.

As much as I want to see Sven tear it up, I've got to stick with my roots and cheer for the Blazers. Should be a heck of a series.

In the games that I've seen I think he's a stronger skater this year and his two way game is very good, he doesn't have the supporting cast this year that he had last year.
I think he's an all around better player then last year.

I'm excited about Max, but I'm really intrigued by Ferland, we don't have enough players with a mean streak, Iggy used to have one but when he started doing that Yoga thing he lost his powerforward game and became more of a perimeter sniper.
Ferland goes to the front of next with authority, wins battles on the board and punches peoples faces off for sport.

i went to the kelowna/portland game tonight and all i can say is wow!!!!
watching sven and rattie was amazing... those two guys are just fantastic together.
i'm really excited to see him full time next year with the flames.... and i'm not sure what it would take to get rattie out of st louis, but feaster should definitely try. these two kids have sick chemistry together!

yeah, and while we're at it: let's draft Pouliot and trade for Morrow and Noebels
On a serious note, there's no way we could get Rattie or Niederreiter. We don't have the assets to trade for young guys that were first-round picks (okay, Rattie was a very early second-rounder, but he could've easily been a first-rounder). I'd even consider giving up our first-rounder this year to get Rattie, but that won't be enough IMO.

Like what MMF said. Trading for junior chemistry isn't always the way to go. Sven can develop chemistry with a new guy at the NHL level.
