I think Denard has intriguing potential as a DB. He'd have some seriously killer make up speed, and it isn't as physically punishing a position as WR or RB would be. Obviously he's gotta bulk up a bit, but him as a safety would be intriguing. I think maybe the better question is, will anyone draft him at all or will he have to go UDFA. Obviously if Al Davis was still living we'd have a prime candidate to draft him.

Because sometimes you just play a hunch, and often you use seemingly meaningless stats to justify your hunch. I don't think there are many legit reasons to expect this game to be anything but a blowout.

Even meaningless stats should probably be accurate if you're going to use them

I still remember when Michigan beat Alabama in the 2000 Orange bowl in that incredible OT game.
With that said Denard will have to be the dynamic version of Denard not the erratic version and Michigan will have to play damn near error free to have any chance. Michigan under Denard has been used to high scoring games where as Alabama has been more involved in the grinding paced games.
Michigan is playing their biggest D line to match up against the incredible Bama O line.
If Michigan wins it will be a great upset, but if Denard can run wild its going to be interesting. Bama lost some key Defensive players. On the Wolverine side the loss of Mike Martin is going to hard to fill this early.
Saben vs Hoke
Lost in all this is Another amazing game will be when MSU plays Boise.

That's why he went to Michigan, Urban recruited him at UF as a WR and he wanted to play qb
So Florida born and raised goes way up north to play football

LOL....a Kent State kid just picked up a ball punted by his team and returned it about 60 yards.....the wrong way.
The ghost of Jim Marshall lives on.

A sought after WR is usually tall.

I'm guessing Moe is in Bozeman tonight watching Denarius McGhee single handedly destroy Chadron State. Hope he's enjoying the game!

There are tons of elite WR prospects at 6'0" or shorter, especially those that have Denard's speed

Sadly, no. I was working until 10pm tonight. I'll definitely get there this fall, McGhee only gets better.

I believe South Carolina had 3 or 4 receivers tonight that were under 6'. The old saying "you can't coach speed" still applies today.

Look at the WR's under Urban Meyer
he had a few that were 6'2ish (cooper and Murphy)
but the rest were around 6' area. Percy Harvin comes to mind.

Two players for Michigan were suspended for the game and didn't make the trip. I don't know what players but it was just stated on the radio. I think Bama wins by 17
