It might also have to something with the shooting he was involved in earlier this summer. The Patriots have always kept their players within the law and tried to keep a good public image. (no idea whatever came of that)

Kind of surprised the Colts kept Gonzo. He seems to be always hurt (is currently hurt but what else is new). He is good when he is healthy but the problem is he never seems to be healthy and has had a hamstring issue dating back to his high school days.

Wayne
Clark
Collie
Garcon
Gonzalez/White

Especially considering he will be the 5th option on offense (not including Addai as the RB) and with how White played last year, he could be pushed to 6th.

This year they're miles ahead of where they were at this time last year.
Haha was just trying to be polite but lately they have messed up.

But yeah I think San Diego will have the 2nd best record in the AFC. I think NE and SD will get the byes. Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Indianapolis, and the NY Jets will be the other playoff teams.

Hmm, couldn't think of a stranger comparison. Other than playing on bad college teams, I don't see anything similar to Cutler. Completely different skill set, unquestioned toughness, unselfish, decent haircut, etc...

I heard a stat a couple years ago about how every year 5 of the 12 playoff teams in the NFL didn't make it the previous season. it had happened 12 straight years. It was the case last year too with KC, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Chicago, and Atlanta.

But in the AFC the only two teams I can see getting into the playoffs this year who didn't last year are the Chargers, and Texans. Even if Manning missed 3 games and the Colt went 0-3....they still will put up at least 9 wins, and possibly 10. I don't think Houston is going to be better than 10.

In the NFC I could Someone else winning the NFC West, and Chicago being displaced by a Tampa, Detroit or NYG.

But I'm not seeing a 5th team. Which tells me someone is going to surprise this year, like Cincinnati running the table in their division two years ago, Atlanta winning their division three years ago, or KC last year. Money question is who of last years playoff teams falters that I haven't already mentioned?

I have three fantasy drafts today, and I know that I have pick 2 in one and pick three in the other. I'm hoping Peterson doesn't go number one but I think he will, giving me the next pick. I'm sort of torn with CJ and Arian Foster as one sat out all camp, and the others health is in question. I'm thinking I'll go for Foster, and try to get Ben Tate as a handcuff.

I'm actually going to try and follow NFL this year. I haven't really paid any attention to the NFL since the Cowboys were winning superbowls. I figure since all my friends are huge NFL fans I would try to get into it.

That being said Go Saints!

I'll probably be looking into this thread more often now because you guys have great insight for a n00b like myself.

One of the hosts of an Indy sports radio show is saying he is hearing rumors that Manning needs another procedure on his neck

He called the team but hasn't heard back yet

If that is the case, then it's a non playoff year. Ugh.

Colts president Bill Polian to me tonight on reports Peyton needs second neck surgery: "I don't know anything about that. I honestly don't."

Filed to ESPN from @mortreport: Peyton Manning is being revaluated by several doctors bc of slow progress. No other procedure planned now.

I wont lie, I hope Manning misses the whole season.

Of course I still want him to come back healthy the next year.

This coming from a Titan fan too.

Why, so the Titans can finish 2nd in the division and still miss the playoffs? (if he misses the season)

I drafted Manning in the 5 th round of my fantasy league tonight, not able to resist the discount I thought I was getting. 20 minutes later this news surfaced. I took another QB with my next pick in panic mode.

Also rumors that Matt Cassel could be out for week one too. That would give the Bills a very good chance to win that game.

Oh Titans won't make the playoffs. I just don't like Manning. I do hope he comes back fully healthy next season, but it be nice to see the Colts struggle for once.
