All it means is it might be home grown, doesn't mean its not Islamic terrorism. But we'll see.

Norway's Justice Minister confirms that the suspect is Norwegian. But that could mean a lot of things.

Witnesses describe him as being white, blonde haired and between 185-190cm tall, and he spoke in the østlands dialect (regional dialect of Oslo and surrounding area).

one of my old clients just moved back to Norway and doesn't live in Oslo, but since the Oil Ministry was an apparent target I'm a little nervous. Sent him an e-mail. but no reply yet.

Makes me wonder if he's linked to the bombing as well.

This could be two disconnected incidents that just happened to be at the same time.

The police say that they highly suspect that the two incidents are linked.

It seems to make sense to me as well. This was a summer camp for youth interested in Norwegian Labour party, which is also the party currently in power. The buildings that were bombed were also government buildings. It seems to me like a small group that has a serious problem with the current government is behind all this.

Apparently links between the two incidents have been established by the government. They have the gunman in custody.

Also, the gunman told his victims that "this was the beginning" or something to that effect.

The words were repeated on the website of the islamic terrorist group that is taking responsibility.

There are a couple of tweets on #Norway that are saying he was seen at the bomb blast when it went off as well. May have to search for those, as they're much further down the list I think by now.

Is there a Lapplander Liberation Front in Norway or anything of the sort? It can just be one crazy guy, who was denied welfare or something of the sort, set the bomb with a timer, and went on a shooting spree at the same time. Of course, it's possible he is a convert to Islam and affiliated with the cartoon-haters...

Apparently this guy was busy. Kinda speaks to a rational mind if he was able to plan it and time it like he did.

Clearly he knew he was doing wrong by killing teens so he set off a bomb to distract the police.

I doubt there will be an insanity plea available here. . . hopefully.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of this....

My guess is they will blame some combination of Al-Qaeda and/or a domestic "right wing extremist". Maybe someone connected to Iran/Libya, that'll just make my day.

One of my eye brows will perk up if the Norwegian government uses this incident to swiftly form their own version of the Patriot Act, or some other means to strip Norwegians of their rights in exchange for security. Hopefully this is not some modern day Operation Gladio.

The Norwegian media is already reporting that this is the work of a home-grown, right-wing extremist.

I rather doubt any patriot acts will be created. I think this is more like the Oklahoma bombing that the 9/11 attacks.
