VAR hates fun - disallowing a 90+5" winner like that.
I'm actually not sure that should have been offside either - I don't think he's offside on the header, and then it's deflected back by the defender.

Well we still have a chance to get through I guess, so we’re not completely screwed. I just don’t see how that’s offside. I thought if it goes off a defender, you’re good?
And honestly, VAR is just dumb to begin with. The chintzy offsides, the lack of consistency in almost any of it, it’s just utterly pointless. They’re not solving anything with it.

Oh and of course you’re happy about it. It’s the same two refs who have you guys a penalty for “armpit” ball in the 2019 final. You can’t even make this kind of ridiculousness up!

Yeah I suppose the claim is he didn’t intentionally play the ball. That’s so stupid because what other purpose is the defender there for? And honestly, a decision like that taking nearly five minutes tells all you need to know. There’s no clear and obvious error being corrected here.
Like you say, we’re still at the top of the group and just need a point. Truth is, if we can’t get at least a point there, we don’t deserve to advance anyway.

job done. Need to beat Sociedad away in the last game to avoid those extra games against a CL club... every win but 1-0 will do, if I read that correctly. Not an easy thing to do, especially since they always seem to struggle against Spanish opposition. If they fail, they do deserve those extra games though. The pen in the Sociedad game was a freaking joke, but losing that game at home was still a kick in the nuts.
