You need to get a new micro sim or cut your old one.

Another question, this one about emailing on the phone.

I set up my Gmail account no problem and it sends and receives messages fine.

I also set up my telus.net account and it receives emails but when I try to send one out it says "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipient xxxxx@gmail.com was rejected by the server". (the persons actual email does show up)

The telus email works fine on my computer, just not on the phone for some reason. Does anyone know what this is about? I can't figure it out.

Are you sending over 3G or Wifi? With provider emails such as Telus, their SMTP servers only work while on Telus Network. If using 3G, you can use your cell phone providers SMTP servers for sending email with those providers. (If Rogers, it should have it listed under Advanced settings for the specific mail account)

I have tried both on WIFI from home as well as when I was on 3G. Neither work. Do I have to change some settings?

You need to use the correct settings for the Telus email on the network you are on. Call Telus and they will tell you what they are.

So, can I just call in to Rogers somewhere and order an iPhone, to be shipped whenever they get one, rather then be forced to play iPhone-roulette with any number of stores?

Ha, just walked by the Rogers store in TD square, looked in and saw some guy working there holding an iPhone box. No line so I pop in to see what's going on. New shipment just arrived! Sadly the guy beside me got the only 32 gig phone but at least I finally got one and didn't have to wait in a stupid line up.

Hi all - I've got a question for those who are in the know about Fido. What I would like to do, is give my wife my old iPhone (Rogers) so she can take it to Fido and get their $25 plan and add the $15 add-on for unlimited data, adjusted evenings/weekends, and unlimited texts. It would be cheaper than her current Telus payments and her contract is done with Telus as well. The question I have though, is if she takes it to Fido, do they force you to use one of their iPhone plans if you bring them an iPhone to activate?

EDIT: Nevermind, I see that those value add-ons are for "mobile phones" and not smartphones/iPhones.

I'm glad I lined up for a 32 gig but that's just me.

Can someone please advise if 500 Mb is enough for Internet data transfer with an iPhone 4? I'm not planning to go too crazy with it, just for browsing mostly (CP ).
Thanks

You should be ok. I would still turn off avatars and signatures and never go into the funny picture/video thread. Everything will load quicker and you'll get more out of your 500 mb.

I probably average around 50megs a month with my 500 plan.
The two places I'm at the most (home and school) have wifi.
When I'm in public, I don't find myself in many circumstances that require me to use data .

Yea, big thing to remember is that over half the time you're going to be on a wifi network (esp if you have wifi at work)

I just got my iPhone 4 and I have a couple questions.

1) I have a university email address and I'm trying to sync it to my phone.

2) Is there an app for alert sounds. I want to have a whip sound when I get texts

1) You didn't actually ask a question here, but essentially you need to do is figure out your schools incoming & outgoing mail servers. (usually mail-in.website.com/ mail-out.website.com) Check your specific schools website for server addresses.

2) What you are looking for is a ringtone. I've never actually downloaded a secondary ringtone. I think what you would do is either a simple google search or check your providers website
