It was rink availability in the Toronto/Florida game which messed up whole schedule and would have resulted in 0 games for Saturday night hockey. I assume sportsnet asked to extend so they could have a Canadian team playing Saturday.

Or the two-day gap they had in the LA series. Definitely giving McReferee and Crysaitl extra days of rest.

My understanding is the NHL did not want a game in FLA on Saturday due to the Heat game also being on Saturday, as well as the Kentucky Derby in that general neck of the woods. I believe there was some other sporting event in and around the SE going on on Saturday as well.

Because of that, the Leafs/FLA game was moved to Sunday.

Then, yes, everyone (Sportsnet and NHL) wanted a Saturday game, so that was the Dumpsville/Knights game.

Vegas opens the scoring quickly as your coach Pugsly starts Skinner who by now is suffering from PTSD and a nasty rubber infection misses a slapshot from behind the Vegas net due to his thousand mile stare.

The Knights go up 2-0 when Nurse once again shows his superior IQ when his controller disconnects leading to a 3 on nothing. Skinner clearly frustrated throws his stick like a spear accidentally killing the future in Bouchard who couldn't turn around fast enough to see the spear coming.

McDavid seeing the hopelessness of his team, starts fake limping around the ice. The Oilers announce the release of a new series "The McDavid Miracle" where he shows his miraculous recovery from his fake injury, the series ends with him saying "F this, I'm outtie" and walking into Hollands office.

Draisaitl heroically sits near the Vegas blueline for the whole game angrily taping his stick as the Oilers are basically trapped 5v4 in their own end. After the 8th goal Skinner is mercy pulled. He storms out of the arena jumps in a uber and is never seen again. We'll until he shows up in downtown Edmonton running a pretzel cart.

Kane has another selfish bonehead moment and is tossed. He's arrested by the IRS while leaving the ice and later announces that he's taking his talents to the California penal league.

The final score is 10-0 and the team has a vote that they are going to forfeit their last game and start their golf season early.

Small sample size but Hill looked pretty solid in relief. Seemed pretty calm and controlled in the crease. Of course if the Knights take undisciplined penalties, things could go off the rails for him and the team.

Vegas switched to a 1 - 2 - 2. Oilers struggle when teams sit back. Stay out of the box and they can win again tonight.

If Hyman is playing hurt now, the Oilers finally have injury issues on par with the teams they are playing.
