Hopefully Bill goes to the locker room after every game unlike Glen who waited till the next day at practice to praise/criticize them. Interaction with players and letting them know where they stand in terms on play would be a huge boost in itself with Bill.
For now he has said all the right things which we as fans wanted to hear and hopefully these are all the points covered by Treliving as well before he hired Bill.
Now it's Treliving's move to provide Bill with the type of players who can play that quick, fast, possession type of hockey.

Wills really lashing out on the fans who disagree might not be a smart move.

I like that he hired Peters without messing around. I thought it took too long to hire last coach. He probably talked to a lot of people last time around and probably has a good handle on what was available.
This is Tre's guy he will live and die by him.

When have I expressed this multiple times? Or are you keeping tabs on me on Facebook and Twitter? Creepy.

That is interesting. Peters equaled GG a more difficult division and with a budget cast. That is encouraging.
So BP is better than GG, but is he enough better I do not know.

One thing is certain: Treliving has put himself on the line because he has made it 100% clear this is his guy. Therefore, if Peters is not the guy, Treliving has made himself totally accountable.

Well, with the head coaching vacancy filled, it does free up Brad to focus on improving the roster, which is just as important if not more important than the head coach.

I'll take a stuttering idiot if he's a good coach. Not all that impressed with dog and pony show press conferences. However, he does sound much more articulate and dialed in versus the last guy.

I will remain somewhat skeptical - as I said, regardless of what he would say I wouldn't hang him nor would I offer accolades off the bat.. but...
He is as charismatic as Hartley. I think this helps.
He wants this team to be hard-working, and it starts with training camp. Hopefully it will be a Hartley-esque training camp (which was the hardest in the NHL).
I love how he is wanting to speed-up the way the Flames play. This has been a HUGE issue with me where it comes to Gulutzan. This SINGLE change might be enough to propel them into the playoffs. It brings Deluxe Moustache's thread up quite nicely in fact, as I feel the faster you transition and attack, the more movement there is in the offensive zone.
Wants to have the defencemen joining the attack. Also mentioned that the top pairing was just scratching the surface in terms of points - Some people may disagree, but Giordano IS a 45-55 point two-way defencemen. It wasn't just "Hamilton is scratching the suface" - it was the pair. Mentions that Brodie was good on the RS - with Hamonic here, I don't THINK he would move Brodie to the right side, but we will see. Brodie on his exit interview stated that he is much better at attacking and feels more comfortable doing so. This seems like a coach that can get Brodie back to being lethal. Please don't trade Brodie now. At any rate, this brings up Enoch's thread about points from defencemen.
What I wanted to hear from this coach is exactly what I heard. Tough but not demeaning (different from Hartley, which is good there), active D and attack with speed - without question this is a fast team and I think some of you might be surprised at how fast they can play and attack. I think this team can be lethal as a two-way team that transitions quickly.

Derek Wills definitely not a very cool customer... making Lou look like not the most irrational guy in the room is difficult to do

I was impressed with his press conference but I am going to lower my expectations again as this team constantly does not meet expectations.

Hmmm, wouldn't know I can't listen to radio anymore. Commercials every 3 minutes every 5th word is sponsor name dropping.

The vetting process was fairly extensive when Gully was hired IIRC. That turned out great.
I don't have a problem with Treliving setting out to get his man. Multiple teams were interested in Peters and we closed quickly. I enjoyed listening to his take on the game and think his stern tone is really gonna help the flames out.
Looking forward to seeing if he can follow through on his strong start aspirations in any case.

I have no idea if we will win more or less games, but Peters demeanor feels more like a head coach than Gulutzen.

Agreed.
Doesn't seem like the type to blame a loss on "not ready to compete".
