Canada essentially has four lines and three defensive pairings that compare to the top line of any other country.
That's the difference. Depth.

It's kind of sad really. We haven't had a worthy opponent since the Gold Medal Game in 2010. I don't think Sweden stands much of a chance in the Final either.

I gotta say, Jim Hughson is perfectly tolerable when he isn't calling Canucks games.

Marchand 1st star over Crosby is someone drunk? I kinda feel bad for Ovechkin every time he goes against Sid he loses.

Stars are important and worth complaining about.

Actually I don't think it was hand pass. Looked like a belly pass to me.
But yeah it doesn't matter.

He can't be a star. He was born under the Christmas Star.

This is how a team plays, not 2 minute shifts and one line getting all the opportunities to score.

Jonathan Toews.
He isn't flashy, he just crushes. 45-2 wearing a TC jersey now

this is something that really confused me, Crosby et al taking short 20-30 sec shifts, TM double shifting, sometimes 1:30 shifts, a line that wasn't the best line. Horrible coaching. Not even horrible but straight up stupid

Having said that about Toews, at some point Ovechkin has to find a way to make a difference. And he never seems to be able to in big tournaments. Completely invisible today.

I either didn't know or forgot that the final is best of three. I'm not sure if I like that. Single game is probably better.

Being fair, Charlie Coyle is pretty fantastic and they've got him for a while. Yes, it's a clear win for the Sharks, but it could have been pretty close had the Wild used the pick better - they took Zack Phillips. Not sure where that dude is, but two picks later, the Ducks took Rickard Rakell. Six more picks later, they took John Gibson (that would've been a pretty good win for the Wild right there). Eight picks after that, Brandon Saad.
It's obviously 20 20 hindsight seeing who you could have had with your first rounder, but even granting that Burns is now one of the best defensemen in the entire league (and I don't think many people thought he'd be this good), it was potentially a win for the Wild and it just didn't pan out.

I think it actually was. He didn't touch it with his glove, from what I can tell - went right off the crest on his jersey.
