They did it with UFC's content and roster updates. I think it's just a way of trying to win over fans by making them think they're getting a bunch of free stuff.

i hate this tuner btw. i have won today's 2 hut games i played. my secret: Poke check like mad, and don't pass the puck once you get it, just swim/dangle around avoiding checks until you are on a break away or 2 on 1 down low.

offline the game is now worse. can anyone explain to me how you play defence (allstar/hardcore)?
- I can't poke check the cpu players,
- i can't hit them, as there is no player skating physics for cpu as they stop on a dime and pivot,
- the puck never bounces over their stick,
- they win all their defensive board battles easily (ie. even if i have 2 guys on 1 poking at the puck),
- i can't just play sound positionally, as i tried that but the cpu simply waits and waits for a cross crease play and with the defensive AI being stupid and player switching being dumb, there's no way to defend that

how do you play defense offline?

i love how even the content patch doesn't include things it was supposed to (3 stars) ea hockey development team (and the so called QA) can go eat a ****..

get a great goalie


failing that, i have success trying to hit them around the blueline. once they get into the zone, let them cycle and just keep your man in the slot to stop the cross crease or block shot

Can't you just adjust the sliders for those issues?

Just finished collecting Carolina for 7 packs and the best player I got was a 86 Dubinsky.

Out of the 4 teams collexlcted so far (Calgary, Buffalo, Florida, Carolina) the best players I have got out of 21 packs is Jack Johnson, Ryan Callahan, Mikko Koivu and Dubinsky...

HUT is getting really boring, real fast...

Do the tuners get applied automatically to Be A GM mode? I didn't notice any difference in the gameplay. I did see the 3 stars though, you press LB or RB at the end of the game where it shows the stats.

I think when you set up your GM mode it asks if you want to play with tuners or stay with one setting. Not sure what the default is though.

Not sure about 15, but in the older games the default setting is always "latest" but you can change to older ones if you want. I'd assume that is still the case.

Much of the same for me. Playing Be A Pro as a two way defender on hardcore. CPU can move on a dime. I don't hit everything that moves like in the past but I'm fine with that. The poke check isn't as effective and I'm fine with that two. My biggest issue is that you can't tie up people in front of the net. All you can do is float beside them and hope to block the pass or stick check and that only works until your partner or the centre blows coverage and their guy gets the one timer from the slot.

Other annoyances (BAP):
Coach feedback has now been added. This is good (still stupid comments though) but it will not clear the screen during shootouts.
You gain no experience points over the off season (I guess nobody trains).
I set period lengths to 7 minutes and consistently (even if saving right after) have to go back as they reset to 20 minutes.
Was in contact talks after my first year.
Simmed start of my second year. Games did not actually show up until the 4th game of the season.
What is the point of being injured for less than a day?

Had some fun in BAP. But it's still such a shallow experience. Guess I'll shelve this until October.

Sure sounds like it was worth not getting this game again this year. I never got NHL 14 and now NHL15, which is a shame as I used to buy it on launch day and look forward to playing it. So much either doesn't change or gets worse I wonder how EA keep making the sales.

I am getting enjoyment out of the Online Vs mode, but that is pretty much it since their is no EASHL. HUT would be fun if the removed the ability to pay money for packs. I don't play vs the computer because I find that too annoying.

For those who haven't noticed yet, on the post-game screen before you Quit to Hub, you can hit R1 or L1 (I imagine LB or RB on Xbox) and get the 3 stars.

I actually like the game (HUT). All the missing modes notwithstanding, it's better game-play than previous years. I find players are actually responsive, for the most part.

It's still incredibly frustrating when playing D against a rush, the guy goes behind the net, and your D and forwards suck to behind the net and get stuck back there. It's odd. And when people exploit that, it gets messy.

That's why for the most part, I'll let my D be AI controlled and backcheck with a forward. That way you can really take away the cross-ice passes or when they stop up and cut to the slot, like 99% of the people online do. It's been working out. People don't quite know what to do. The only thing is getting the defensive pressure right based on your opponents offensive pressure so your AI D doesn't blow it. (IE: Too aggressive or too passive)
