I saw Kypreos mentioned Kadri to Florida as a possible suitor earlier today. I'm sure it's idle speculation, but would make sense if Barkov's rehab hits a setback.

Canucks GM used the word "rebuild" in their official statement about the Hughes trade.

Shocking to see a team admit they are starting a rebuild.

TThe problem with florida is their assets aren't that interesting.

Canucks making the type of moves the flames should have made after losing a young franchise player

This is the type of deal we should of went after for Tkachuk after losing him and Gaudreau.

We could of had this type of return and been going into the bedard and celebrini drafts.

Yeah, let's pattern the team after the Canucks. Such role models.

It’s the type of move you make when you are dead last in the league. That describes the Canucks right now. It absolutely did not describe the Flames in 2022.

Penguins made a great move today too. getting a nice draft pick for almost nothing.

It shows that deals can happen in season and you can do well being a seller.

I hope the Flames make a move soon too. Mostly for the entertainment and discussion.

Yep, it's easy to say that now but at the time they had just had a season where yeah they choked against their biggest rival but they finished first in the Pacific.

When you get offered a 115 point player after losing one yourself and a good defensemen + I don't blame them for taking it over giving up. They only had to replace Tkachuk at that point and they tried to with Kadri.

Nobody expected Huberdeau to drop like he did, for Sutter to go insane, and for the team to completely implode.

Just catching up but Dreger again on barnburner spitting “they cant just throw in the towel when they are right in the race”. I’m so sick of that narrative. We are second last after an insanely hot stretch. This team stinks.

Dreger is driving me mental.

Management/Ownership better not have this mindset.

We have such a clear path forward in trading Rasmus, Kadri and Coleman. And loading up on 1st round picks and prospects. And helping the tank this year by trading these guys.

But then you hear from insiders that Kadri and Coleman are not being shopped and will not be traded unless they ask out basically.

If any team can screw this up, it is Murray Edwards, Don Maloney and the Calgary Flames. I have faith that Conroy knows what needs to be done, I just doubt he is going to be allowed to do it with the other stooges who are above him in the organization.

Rutherford wants that first overall pick.

Do you blame him? A top 3 pick speeds up any rebuild.

There is no honor or winning culture being built by finishing 10th last and being competitive. You dont get brownie points for not tanking. The best teams picked at the top of the draft at one point.

The Flames are still 31st overall, you're acting like they're pushing themselves out of the top 10.
