For those of us not very familiar with basball's draftee signing deadline, is the deadline midnight pacific time? And if McGuire doesn't sign by then he then will enter next years draft?

Deck Mcguire signed for 2 million
Logan Ehlers rejected 800K which is way above slot.

I believe it's midnight EST; i.e. the deadline has already passed.

Well another Jays pitcher throws a one hitter. Good bounce back start by Marcum after being roughed up the last time out.
I try to keep out of using the Division as an excuse, but in any other Division a team with a 63-55 record would at least be considered in contention. The Jays are just an afterthought with a record like that, and no realistic shot at the Wild Card. This year the AL East is a real beast with those top three teams.

It's going to be sad to see this season end. So many good stories and performances from the year. This team truly is a pleasure to follow.

Just wanted to add that Sportsnet can lick my nuts for not ensuring that major cable companies have Sportsnet One slotted in their lineup prior to it's launch.
Can you imagine if we all missed a no-hitter?

I love that AA's spending dough on draft picks instead of Frank Thomas's.

Last night USTREAM had someone streaming the Jays game, and he said he would do it again tonight. Just google USTREAM+Jays anytime after the game starts

Finally had to do it today. Grumble grumble angry angry. Fist shaking. More grumble.

Dear Rogers Broadcasting
The insurmountable greed put on display with the launch of Sportsnet One is one of the saddest corporate travesties I have ever witnessed. Your attempt to blackball cable providers into picking up your latest cash grab by removing product from the respective regional channels is sad at best.
I would like to personally contact the man responsible for the decision of pulling Blue Jays games from the regional channels. It is mind boggling that you would remove coverage of A TEAM YOU OWN from all of western Canada. You have failed miserably at promoting this product, which in turn creates a negative atmosphere surrounding your new product, RSN1. As today's newspapers and public discussions have indicated, there is clearly a growing public outrage regarding this shift.
But this is not the first time you have shafted Jays fans in an attempt to suck their money. We all remember the coverage switches to having the Jays game rotate through several of your Regional networks in order to encourage people to pick up your extended package, which on many cable providers were not even offered in HD. There was also the hair brained scheme of playing commercials between at bats, which is an insult to the time honored tradition of baseball itself. How little do you care about the fans of your team?
I am sure that for now you will continue to assume you can bend over Jays fans as you see fit, and probably send me some stupid response regarding how I should contact my cable provider.
So why even bother then? I just wanted you all to know that your disregard for the fans of A TEAM YOU OWN is one of the most insulting and pathetic business decisions ever made in Canada. I will boycott any and all Rogers products, as well as any products advertised on any of the various Rogers broadcasting entities, outside of the Toronto Blue Jays themselves.
Sincerely
|

You can't subscribe to SN1 in Western Canada - only Rogers TV has it and none of the prairie provinces or BC can even get their cable through Rogers. So all of us have absolutely no way of legally watching most Jays games until Shaw/Telus/Bell cave and meet Rogers' ridiculous demands.

Now, the only way to watch most of the remaining games are to do so illegally. Brillant.
