If the Flames had done anything to upgrade their forwards I thought this would be a real possibility. Especially against certain teams.
But as it stands, I don't see the point given the guys we have waiting in the wings. Unless he needs the rest.

Derek Ryan is working on his third straight +35-point season. Sam Bennett hasn't hit the 30-point mark since his rookie year. I like him and I think he can be a middle-six player in the long term, but you are badly underrating Ryan to make this point.
Derek Ryan is NOT a fourth line centre.

Bennett supporters are in a bind because, in order to boost their guy, they have to denigrate another player higher on the depth chart. Before they would have been saying he needed to play top six, but with Mangiapane lighting it up and Backlund back at C, that argument is gone. So Ryan is the new guy to aim at.
The answer isn't putting Bennett with Lucic and Dube instead of Ryan, since that line seems to work well together. The answer is to get Bennett better wingers and have another third line. Jankowski isn't cutting it and the team can do better than Reider or Rinaldo. Maybe Czarnik at RW?

Fair enough, in the past Ryan has been better statistically. That being said, to my eyes Bennett has been better and that should continue into the post season if they get in.

I'll say it, I love having Krahn on the radio. Guy just makes my drive to work that much more enjoyable. It was hilarious when they called him a boy band snob for not liking Backstreet Boys because they were too mainstream ha ha.

WYWTA was so annoying today lol.. just Krahn uncontrollably giggling for quite literally 5 minutes straight. He's decent and I mostly like him I guess, but I don't think he's charmed me like he has with most people though. I actually find his laugh kind of annoying, just because it's so over-used.

I didn't hear it but it might not have been him laughing for 5 minutes on air. They have collected his laughs into a sound clip and when the mood strikes, the producer just plays the loop. They think it's funny.

Nope... I missed what was so funny, but all of them were apparently crying they were laughing so hard.

Lol I tuned just as the beep joke kicked in. It may have been the worst 5 mins of live sports radio I have ever heard. I couldn't turn it off, as I was trying to ascertain wtf was so funny, but also, krahn's laugh is frigin infectious.

I wasn't focused on listening at the time but the general segment was them reminiscing about old nostalgia items (i.e. plastic replacement hockey stick blades you could curve to wicked extremes). Beep Juice came up in a text in a hilarious story from a listener. The guys were so delirious with laughter from something previous, that the Beep story plus the ridiculousness of saying "BEEP" just made them lose it.
It was really only funny if you recognize this carton.... (No millenials likely laughed at this segment)
One of those "you had to be there" kind of jokes....

That Krahn laugh loop does get overused, I'll admit. But for the most part, I still find him very engaging to listen to. His playing days stories are pretty entertaining to listen to.
I also really like Stajan on there. The guy has so many good stories, and I can see why he's so well liked as a teammate. He sounds like a genuine nice guy that you'd love to be around.
