SW Visions is a non-Skywalker universe themed show where each episode is self contained to its own story with different art styles and such. I thought some episodes were stronger than others but overall enjoyed the series.

I watched it, I just didn't like it and it didn't add anything new or interesting.

There was one story line where one of the main characters became disgruntled and joined the First Order, but nothing really came of it.

It was a real misfire.

So, would you say you are resisting?

How did the big bosses at Disney not just put Filoni in charge of all things Star Wars? The saga films they put out are absolute garbage, whereas everything else they've been doing is gold. Can't wrap my head around it.
Is Rebels geared towards kids or is it more broad? I tried to get into Bad Batch, but it's a kids show at it's heart and couldn't hold my interest at all. Also do you miss out on a lot of background story if you haven't seen Clone Wars?

I would say it's geared towards older teens and adults. There's some legit genocide that takes place tbh, but the themes are more mature, like bravery, loyalty, strategy and some spirituality (jedi stuff).

Clone Wars takes place in a different era than Rebels, so you do not need to watch CW to enjoy Rebels.

Clone Wars essentially deals with the events during movies Ep1-3, while Rebels deals with events during movies Ep4-6.

Couple of thoughts on this, and I hope I help.

The first about 3/4 of season 1 does have a kids like feel, but it rapidly grows up after that and by the end is really a great series for Star Wars fans adult and children. There are dark moments, genocide, deaths, executions.

At the same time they filmed it in such a way that it wouldn't be traumatic to the kids that watch. For example near the end of season one the Inquisitor beheads a couple of Imperial Officers for their failure, but you don't actually see heads getting lopped off. We see StormTroopers butchered in the hundreds but they handle it really well.

For the Link to the Clone Wars. Again the Clone Wars started off as extremely kid friendly. But like they aged Ashoka the series aged rapidly to the point where certain story lines become incredibly adult and Dark. Look at the Umbara story line. Even the Order 66 story line in the last season. Very adult theme.

Can you watch Rebels without Clone Wars? Sure its possibly and even likely, though you do get a bunch of cross over characters like Ashoka, and like Rex and Saw. So watching Clone Wars probably makes Rebels a lot fuller and more coherent.

With Bad Batch, it does lack the intensity of the last 2 or 3 years of Clone Wars. But its started like the other series and Rebels started as fairly bright in the dark times. With a kid character designed to make kids watch the show. But you could see it starting to darken up with the inhibitor chip story and the initial move from Clone Troopers to Storm Troopers and the seeds for a possible Clone rebellion.

Hope this helps.

Rian Johnson Is ‘Even More Proud’ Of Star Wars: The Last Jedi Five Years On – Exclusive

“I’m even more proud of it five years on,” he says. “When I was up at bat, I really swung at the ball.” The film, he says, is not just a Star Wars movie – it’s a movie about Star Wars, and what it means to fans (himself included). “I think it’s impossible for any of us to approach Star Wars without thinking about it as a myth that we were raised with, and how that myth, that story, baked itself into us and affected us,” Johnson explains. “The ultimate intent was not to strip away – the intent was to get to the basic, fundamental power of myth. And ultimately I hope the film is an affirmation of the power of the myth of Star Wars in our lives.”

That was....I dont even know what to accurately call that.

How you can put that in a major studio Franchise Blockbuster film and then turn around and say you were proud of it I cannot fathom.

I commented that The Matrix 4 was overtly and blatantly just an insult to its audience, but so was what Johnson did.

He was basically making fun of the audience for watching his movie and took the piss out of them for it.

Rian Johnson doubling down on TLJ and not apologizing for anything is some real king ####. It's the best of that trilogy, and it isn't even close.

I wouldn't say that. I got to see the city of Dubrovnik on screen which was mildly cool.

Different doesn't automatically mean good.

Bucking the narrative and character arcs of the preceding films doesn't make the work genius or a breath of fresh air.

Sometimes it's just a unique, steaming pile of ####.

Doesn't Luke tell Rey she has 3 lessons/trials and she was only (sort of) given 2 because they left the third on the cutting room floor in post production? It doesn't even follow its own narrative.

The "more!" GIF was the only worthwhile thing to come out of that film.

Get sarlacc'd, Rian.
