Friedman reporting Blackhawks, Stars, Panthers, Kings were interested in Purcell.
Blackhawks now out of it with Ladd. Friedman not sure where Stars are at with Purcell, but thinks Panthers and Kings are still in on Purcell as of last night with the Kings as the slight favorites.

Purcell was a McTavish trade away from being a waiver wire player last year. Not sure exactly why some contending teams would think he's a missing piece of the puzzle.

Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey
Friedman: I believe the ask from #FlaPanthers for Ladd was first-rounder and either Lawson Crouse or Michael Matheson. #NHLJets
Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey
Friedman: "I think Florida just looked at that as too much of a price to pay." #FlaPanthers

That is crazy.
I would be hesitant to give up just Lawson Crouse if I was Tallon, let alone a first on top of that.

lol I wouldn't give up Lawson Crouse for Laad right now let alone adding a first and Laad walking in the summer.
They should totally give that up for Hudler though...

James Mirtle @mirtle
Another player where team looking for second-round pick. Going to be lot of those moved. twitter.com/CraigCustance/…
Craig Custance @CraigCustance
Jiri Hudler, available as a rental, has ten points in 11 games since the All-Star game. Solid option for teams short on offense.

I feel like the Flames will be looking for more then a 2nd round pick there, not sure where Mirtle would have the insight that the Flames would only want a second for Hudler.
Hudler is a 0.85 PPG player over the last two seasons, and had 8 points in 11 games last year in the playoffs.
Flames should be asking for a top prospect or a 1st round pick. Settle for a 2nd at the last minute if need be.
If Ladd gets a good prospect and a 1st then Hudler should pull a 1st.

Would be nice if Treliving could pull a first rounder for each of Hudler and Russell. Maybe not as crazy as I would have thought a week ago.

In regards to Hudler.

@mirtle @CraigCustance Have to think they are asking for more then a 2nd. 0.85 PPG in last two years, plus had a decent playoffs last year.

I call B.S. on Mirtle. How would he have this info unless it came straight from BT? Maybe a rival GM leaked it to him to try and drive the price down?

Wonder if it's a tactic to draw more attention to the GM's.

If Hudler played all season like he has the last few weeks, a 1st wouldn't be unrealistic. I think now though a second seems much more realistic. At least he's playing well now...without the last few weeks of play, the Flames would've been lucky to get a 3rd for him.

I have a hard time believing the Flames are asking less for Hudler than what they got for Glencross.

That may or may not have been me that tweeted at Mirtle.
Polak + Spaling just returned two 2nd round picks. Ladd got a good prospect and a 1st. If Flames are only asking for a 2nd I would think the trade would be done already.

That is really low unless the pick is in the 31-40 range and there is nobody that would be buying Hudler has one.

I have a hard time believing a GM of BT ability is straight out asking for a 2nd. If his end goal was to get a 2nd, at this stage he would be asking for at least a 1st.
