Imagine the Thunder beat the Spurs and Warriors, two of the best teams ever by regular and advanced metrics...and then lost the Finals. Wow that would suck. But since Game 4 of the Spurs series they've just hit their highest level of the season and have dominated at home.

So you don't figure they can beat the Raptors eh? Lowry and DD too much for Westbrook and Durant?

JV is apparently a gametime decision tonight. Even if he can only go 10-15 minutes, that ability to rest Bismack in those minutes so he can continue to battle in the post would be huge. Nice to see he's at least close.

JV for even 10 minutes to use up his fouls will be great.
If he does enough to force a match up out of the Cavs, even better.

Why do they do the anthems so early?

Really good start, especially defensively. Love looks terrible again. Irving hitting some impressive buckets with very good defense in front of him. Lebron gets ridiculous benefit of the doubt when it comes to calls. NBA refs should be ashamed when they look at the tape.

How do the refs miss that out of bounds call. This reffing is getting ridiculous.
Edit: and now that "jump ball"!

There's no way the refs don't have money on the line here. I'm anti ref bashing in hockey of you follow my posts at all, but with the NBA's track record and the huge discrepancy in calls here....

The refs need to do a little bit better job of hiding their favoritism towards the Cavs.

OMG, that last non-call on Johnson was disgusting. Literally had ahold of his hand and they called a jump ball. The fix is in.
Edit: and then that charge on Johnson...#### you refs. #### you.
First foul of the game called 15 minutes into the game. Give me a break.

So they aren't even going to disquise it now. The NBA does not want a Canadian team in the Finals so just in case the Cavs can't get it done they have the officials making sure they get through.

I feel the same way. This is getting insane. I tend to roll my eyes at most sports-based conspiracy theories, but i have to imagine the NBA doesnt want the Raptors in the finals
And now the standing ovation from the fans on the first foul called.

The Cavs favoritism has been a little noticeable all series, but not blatant. This game is another story so far. Good thing they have almost 3 quarters to make it up to the Raptors.

The problem has always been that the NBA's always revolved around their star players. And because they value those marketing aspects so much, the NBA's willing to sacrifice the integrity of the league. What I don't understand is with betting on the line, how can they continue to run their business like this? The calls are so inconsistent. Even the conservative sport of baseball has now adopted a more standard approach of coaching to a standard strike zone as opposed to the personalized strike zone according to the umpire, which they used to have before. MLB's been far from perfect, but they've tried to change a bit. The NBA's been embarrassing for years.

Lowry's got really lucky this game on a couple of those long unnecessary 3's, when there hasn't been shot clock situation. He's not Curry. He's gotta realize that he's playing the lottery and his bad decision making will more often than not hurt the team.
