I'm curious on this. Say we have the vote it's something like 60/40 against APP. Will you admit that this was a giant white elephant at that point in time, or what's the position?

The reality is, there is no way the province is getting anywhere near half of the assets. I don't have the answer, but I'd be curious to know at what number lower this is just dropped all together, because I have to think that at $50bn it's a non-starter.

Easy to say "just see how the vote goes" when the playing field is so clearly tilted.

Danielle is spending millions pushing this agenda (an agenda she doesn't have a mandate for) and biasing the debate rather than providing a balanced perspective of the facts.

Sounds like 40% of voters were right and 60% bought into the NDP and Trudeau lies!

How about we don’t waste money on a vote, cause literally no sane person asked for this in the first place.

Meh, I like posters with differing views. I also don't think that Yoho has a position that is any less set in stone than some of the leftist posters here.

And UCP voters hate when the governing party pursues something they don’t have a mandate for. That’s why they mentioned the NDP not campaigning on a carbon tax 5000 times. And that’s why they will unanimously oppose the APP… right? …somebody? …anybody? …Bueller?

This is not a matter of 'differing views'. You asked if he'll admit [something], hell [anything].

He will not.

At worst, he will post an unrelated Twitter link. At best, he'll simply ignore you and go quiet for a brief period.

Yoho is far from the only poster on CP who routinely makes low-effort, partisan ####-posts and never admits he’s wrong. But that stuff doesn’t get people riled up unless it’s made by a poster who they disagree with.

Which isn't a lot different than a lot of partisans though. Let's be serious here...no one's changing anyone's mind in this thread.

Exactly! But you don't see us spamming this site with idiotic left wing tweets with no commentary.

Also, I've noticed for several years now that right-wingers tend to assume if you're not on their side, you're then left-wing - which is a misnomer. Many of us are centrist (hell even slightly right of centre), not left. Although when you're as far right as Yoho and some of the senior posters in the Federal thread, ANYTHING other than their position would be considered 'left'.

Look at the poll from link above (https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/tru...mith-1.6999984).

The majority of Canadians and Albertans hate the idea of withdrawing from the CPP. Smith is in the minority.
I don't think his Netscape Navigator will properly open the current CBC website, and I'm sure his Rebel News plugin acts as a blocker anyway.

What is the record for the strongest defeat of a referendum in Canada or any western democracy for that matter?

Assuming this does go to a referendum, and it fails, BusTits should of course resign, the honorable thing to do. But obviously BusTits and honor don't exactly go hand in hand, so I doubt it.

And to be clear I'm not advocating another election or anything, just she should go and someone else in the UCP should get a chance.

So the purpose is to make the feds squirm and co cede points of interest. The Feds only care about what the rest of Canada thinks. The more the rest of Canada cares, the more the Feds would be willing to concede.

But more importantly, the key point that seems to be missing is what does a ‘no’ vote do to the Feds’ resolve on other points of interest? This is just terrible risk assessment if Albertans turning on their own provincial government in favour of the Feds results in an emboldening of federal positions in the province.

Has PP made his position known? I don't think acquiescing to Danielle will play well in the GTA.

The correct answer is to say it is a stupid plan for all parties, but I am not so sure PP would go with that.

Why not? He can burn a couple piles of political capital with Albertan's and still take all but a couple seats in Alberta. Orare you suggesting an 'own goal' type event?
