I don't really see the Vikings making the playoffs at this point. Their remaining schedule is brutal.

Well that was completely unexpected. Takes a lot to raise my blood pressure these days when it comes to sporting events, but that one certainly did it. Thought for sure we would see yet another Favre comeback at Lambeau...(tho apparently he hasnt done that much in his career ) and he almost pulled it off.
the only saving grace the Packers have left is they should be getting a couple guys back in the next couple weeks, they now have essentially a full 2 game lead on the Vikings and the Bears are in full implosion mode. That should leave them competing for the division by years end.
This team has to figure out how to run the ball when they absolutely need to or it wont matter.

Holy crap is Childress pissed off.
just watch his presser...he is pissed at the officials about Schiancoe overturn in the endzone.....and then the good stuff.
Pretty much threw Favre under the bus, and then drove back over him. Unbelievable.
may be the beginning of the end of favre in Minny.

Now that I have calmed down after todays loss, I guess I can take solace in that we lost to the 3 best teams in the league at the moment and each of those games other than the NE game, we had a chance to win or at least tie the game on the last drive of the game.
The problem is it doesn't get any easier for the fins who got
Cincy, Balt and Tennesee over the next 3 weeks. After that the schedule eases up on the fins. IF the fins get out of there at 5-4. There is still a shot at a wildcard in the ultra tough AFC

Without using his name...
He hinted all over that Brett is trying to play his own game and not within the confines of the "team system"...dont worry this will get all kinds of play i would think.
Will probably be up on NFL.com before long.

Farve looks completley beat up right now, moreso than I ever remember in his career. I don't see him being able to rally the Vikings back the way he looks right now.
Another week more crazy stuff in the NFL. I thought the Giants were on the verge of a mutiny a few weeks ago, if they win tommorrow, they're hands down the best team in the NFC. The 49'ers are terrible, and the Seahawks are looking like they'll win the NFC West. The Saints aren't right if they can't beat the Browns at home. I still think the Packers are the best team in the NFC North, but with the injuries they have how far can they go? Washington is not getting good play from McNabb, but they're finding ways to win games. Before the season I thought the power had shifted to the NFC, but I don't think that anymore. Any of the Jets, Patriots, or Steelers, even the Titans are plenty capable of handling anyone from the NFC.
As for the AFC, the Chargers continue to not get it done in the clutch, and Kris Brown is a perfect fit for that team. The Bronco's play terrible against teams they should beat it seems and good against teams that are better. Tennessee is a good team as they've rolled the NFC East, looking foward to seeing them against Houston or Indy. The Patriots are more like the old Pats, relying on team play to get wins. Steelers are still pretty strong although Miami was hard luck losers today. And I'm definitely dropping Farve from my fantasy team in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick...
As for my Chiefs, sure it's the Jags, but two straight weeks with 200+ yards rushing, only 1 sack against in the last 3 games, that line is doing a decent job. Thomas Jones drives fantasy owners nuts, but he has been a great acquisition for the Chiefs, and it will pay off later in the year. They're starting to look more like the team I thought they'd be. Good running team, but still vulnerable on defence. Still at 4-2 and with the schedule they have left, they should be at least a 9-7 team, and I think that will win their Division this year. Hopefully they stay focused and keep trying to get better.

Yeah very tough loss today. The coaches have to take alot of the blame. On the Fins go ahead FG drive in the 4th, the Fins moved the ball into FG range with some nice passes as soon as they were in FG range they got too conservative again and got no where. Then after the Steelers take the lead, on first down, they run a draw to Ronnie. I don't get it. Fasano drops the 2nd down ball, which happens but then on third down the play ends up being a checkoff to Polite. Brutal just brutal.
Special teams are frickin' joke. Each and every week the Dolphins give up big plays on returns. Something is just wrong.
I still think they have a chance for a wild card but like you said they have to come out of the next 3 in good shape. I think they are one more play maker away on both sides of the ball before they can really contend.

I don't think you can be worse then 11-5 to get a WC spot in the AFC this year and that might be pushing it (might take 12-4).

Yeah you could be right. The good news for the Dolphins though is that they play a lot of the teams ahead of them. NYJ, NE, Balt and Tenn. They will likely have to run the table in those 4 games. But more importantly they cannot throw games away vs some of the bottom feeders (Det, Buff, Clev). Next Sunday in Cincy is an interesting match up.

At this point it would seem that the Jets, Patriots, Steelers, and Ravens are all pretty solid bets to win 11 games. Than factor in that the Titans, Colts, and Texans could all end up around that there is no way a 10-6 team gets a Wild Card spot.
To tell you the truth, if I was a Colts fan, the team I'm most worried about right now is the Titans. With the injuries the Colts have they could be in tough beat out the other teams for a WC spot if they can't win their Division.

Absolutely agree with what you said. A really good football team will not be in the playoffs this year (Colts, Texans, Titans, etc). Next Monday's game is huge @ Lucas Oil. Need a win. We play Tennessee (twice) towards the end of the year which I think is a good thing if it comes down to those.

Childress obviously does not know the rules. That wasn't a catch and neither was the GB one at the back of the endzone before that, that he should have challenged himself.
The ball cannot touch the ground period! The receiver must have full control throughout the catch until he hands the ball back to the ref. Think back to the Calvin Johnson non-catch in Week 1!

"You can't throw it to them, you've got to play within the confines of our system," Vikings coach Brad Childress said. "Sometimes it's OK to punt the football. You can't give seven points going the other way, not in a game like this."

That may not seem to harsh on the surface to many, but here is the undisputed truth in the NFL...the coaches HAVE to have their players back and especially the QB. Nevermind a guy like favre who garners more respect than any other player in the game.
No doubt in my mind this will become yet another "thing" for that team to deal with through this week. The media will not allow it to be anything but.
Trent Dilfer ( who has quickly become my personal favorite NFL analyst by a mile) was just talking about this and he made it really clear that he was completely dumb-founded by the comments even though he agreed they were true. He also was pretty adamant that those who know the Favre/Childress relationship have told him that favre has been biting his tongue since last year when it came to game planning/knowledge and that Favre has done this on order to keep cohesion in the locker room. He suspects that Favre will not take kindly to this for those reasons.
Could be a really fascinating thing to watch it all unfold.

Solid win by my Seahawks.
Not pretty by any means, Hasslebeck is continually walking a dangerous line with some passes and decisions, only to be bailed out by Mike Williams making some big time plays using his size and strength. Also, had numerous time in the pocket, yet was sacked 5 or 6 times (including a fumble).
6 or 7 times in the red zone but only 1 TD...that has to improve.
Mare made 5 FG's...well 8 really. Three times SEA got penalty calls against them after the kick was good. One of those, he had kicks from 31, 41, and 51, all good, only one counted.
Arizona is fragile as expected...Breston, out but Fitzgerald did little..only Hightower stoof out. Would be surprised if we see Max Hall anymore, as when Anderson came in, he calmed the team down, although the damage was done with numerous ARI turnovers in part thanks to Seattle rain.
But with a St. Louis loss and another 49'ers choke job, SEA 4-2 and a full game ahead in the division.
By no means done in that division, but have set themselves up to have the destiny in their own hands, and the increasing confidence week by week as Carroll's attitude pays off with all important results, sets the team up well in that regard too.
On a side note, sat through that entire Bears Redskins debacle...what a horrible football game and thank goodness SEA beat that Bears team. What an offensive mess...when Cutler has time he underthrow receivers or throws up prayers. Fumbles, INT's, horrible 3rd down conversion rates.

Considering the Chiefs recent history I am being cautiously optimistic about the team so far this season. Still, the Chiefs this season look much, much different than the Chiefs teams that lost at home to the Raiders the last two or three years.

You know what the cheifs look like to me?
Fast...everywhere. Fast on offense, and fast on d and fast on ST. They just need a year or two of learning...and they will be solid me thinks. Haley and crew are the right guys for thta job as well IMO.
