If I get an iphone, I wont pay more for a used one than I would for a new one even on contract.

So what, I just have to randomly keep trying hoping a different time slot shows up??

Yeah I only see Friday at 1:45 available

Yes you could run into a problem there. I'm fortunate enough to have one of the computers free from the tyrannical rule of IT, so I can download the necessary stuff to make mobileme work. Perhaps you can befriend an IT person at work or hold his kids as ransom?

I've always been anti .mac/Mobile Me because it's not really good value if you know enough to source the features from places that offer them for free. The find my phone feature is very cool though.
This is how I have everything setup.
Calendars: Work (Exchange)->Google Calendar Sync->Google Calendar
Personal (iMac and Macbook iCal)->Google Calendar
Contacts: Gmail Contacts
Mail: Shaw POP, my website POP,->Gmail
Phone: Gmail, Google Calendar, Google contacts set up as Exchange service to push to iPhone.
So in short, I have all three of my computers push data to my Google services and my phone is set up to have data pushed to it from Google.

Now lets see if you can find a 16GB 3G iPhone for under $199 that does NOT require a brand new contract (or an extended contract by way of hardware upgrade).

Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with what you're doing at all ... but this is kinda what I meant when I said there are cheaper ways of doing it, but mobileme can be a bit cleaner. It's the same reason I tend to buy stuff from my apple tv instead of downloading them via bit torrent, I'll pay a premium for ease of use.

Has anybody noticed since 3.0 that the click sound when you send your phone to standby has changed? Mind is more of a clunk now than a click. If you're curious, yes this is important to me and yes I'm comfortable feeling that way.

Just updated my iPhone 2G to 3.0, had an issue on my mac and I was really scared that I bricked my phone. Used iBricker to get it back and then unlocked/jailbroke my phone on my PC. Its really smooth, if anyone with a 2G phone is planning on unlocking their phone to use 3.0 make sure you have the latest iTunes, I think that is what bricked my phone originally.

Yeah. I just unlocked mine yesterday too. My 3GS is on the truck as we speak, so I need to get my 3G ready to hand off. The whole "unlock" process was a lot smoother than it was in the old days, that's for sure.

If you need an unlocked/jailbroken phone, you might want to hold off on selling your 3G since the 3GS isn't hacked yet.

It's all good, I'm with Rogers. I just unlocked it to bump its value up a bit.

Please help me. Something happened to my iPhone during a sync yesterday. It says it's now in recovery mode and I must restore it before I can use it with iTunes. If I restore it I lose everything, right, as it goes back to the original settings. If I do this do I lose all of my apps I've downloaded or will they be restored when I sync to iTunes? Lots of my apps are free but I've paid for a number of them and don't want to have to buy them again.
Anyone?

Apple lets you re-download purchased apps for free.

If you made backups from previous syncs it'll restore those. That way you won't lose your contacts, settings, sms...ect.
Also, if you used itunes to sync your applications, they should be on your harddrive and will reinstall your apps. As mentions above, you only have to buy an app once, afterwards, you can redownload for free.
